Favorites of Mine for '09

I’m like a new mom to be…nesting…getting ready for what the new year will bring.

I’m excited and anticipating, curious, slightly nervous (sometimes I hate changes) eager and motivated.

To get me all set for the new year, I am a firm believer of “Out with the old – In with the New”
To do this, that means throwing out stuff that either hasn’t been used, thought about or read anymore. I’ve already cleaned out my clothes in my closet and my knickknacks. The only thing left now are my magazines.

PILED HIGH IN MY CLOSET!

In my quest for Ousting the Old and Bringing in the New, I was given a wonderful book for Christmas. It’s called:
Style Statement: Live by Your Own Design. My daughter best describes it:

“I have been completely engrossed in the book, Style Statement, by Carrie McCarthy & Danielle LaPorte. It, among many other things at the moment, is changing my life entirely. It’s giving me a new perspective of who I am as a person, & allowing me to find the beauty within my self, my quirks, my passions, my talents & my desires. I have been desperately trying to discover these things about myself; so much that is has been the only question in my mind. I am stunned at how much I don’t know myself; how much I fill in the blanks to have an answer."

So far, I’ve really discovered so much about ME and it’s not just about fashion either.

Another favorite for ’09 is a great place to shop for special trinkets (necklaces and etc.) totally handmade.
The pieces are reasonable and beautiful (and I know the owner of this cute little shop – in fact, I gave birth to her…my daughter.) Here’s her shop:

I’ll also be featuring my son in law’s e-book when it’s published. It’s a GOOD one (I helped with editing). It’s titled Reclaiming Your Dreams. It’s going to be on the best seller e-books list. I just know it!

And speaking of Favorites here's a look at my most favoritest peeps in the whole world!!

Can you come to my house and clean out the old stuff?

Oh wait, you'd be tossing me to the curb.

Never mind!

Well I'm up with you as far as clearing out goes but I like the sound of that book - I'm off to Amazon to have a look for it.

Lovely photographs too, such beautiful faces.

I love the new look of your blog! I get on cleaning kicks myself it's usually just when the mood hits me. I recently did my clothes closet but every closet in my house needs it!
I'm going to check out the book. I too have been searching for "me" and what I am good at. I know I must have a niche somewhere???
Your peeps are all beautiful people. I know you are proud.
Happy cleaning and Happy New Year to you!
