Going to the chapel and we're going to get….

MARRIED!

Yes, October 25th is the big day unless Boo decides to change the date, one more time. I've already told him that I expect to see him on that day, dressed and ready to go and not sitting in his underwear, watching football.

I'm excited because with my first marriage, we eloped in Las Vegas so to have a "real" ceremony is going to be fun. But, I had to meet Boo halfway so we decided to have a very small outdoor wedding for immediate families. That way, it would be more cost efficient as well. As much as I thought of having something lavish, with the economy being what it is, it's just not the time.

So, the planning begins and I don't have a clue where to start. There is a gazebo with a beautiful fountain at the civic center close by our house so I'm shooting for the ceremony to take place there. I'm looking for a place to have the reception. The Cupcake Lady is doing our cake.

I've got to get going on colors, dresses, flowers, etc.

I need ideas so please, please, tell me about your weddings or receptions or both. What was it like? Was it big? Were there any regrets? Words of advice?

We got married on Halloween, hubby can't forget ;)

We had a renaissance themed wedding. FOr the reception we had simple meat and cheese trays, fruit and rolls. We had a bagpiper who played when I walked down the aisle. We wrote our own vows. We didnt have any regrets. My mom tried to ruin it by showing up late and being in a crappy mood, but I took one look at her and told her this is my day and if she doesnt change her attitude she can leave. She changed her attitude, lol

Most imporant thing to remember is that you are gettingmarried, no matter what goes wrong, the most important thing is that you will get married and that is really what matters, let everything else go. DOnt stress.

Congratulations!

That's exciting news!

Just have fun with the whole thing . Don't get stressed with the planning. Pick the things that you guys love and what stands out.
On the day of the wedding, enjoy the cocktail hour (I missed mine) and just have fun!

I'm so happy for you!

I am just counting my blessings that I am family.

I am so excited for you and HAPPY! I love it.

You are doing the right thing with a wedding. I have regrets that Brandon and I didn't do something. I don't regret the marriage, just the eloping to Vegas part. I can't wait to hear how things come together.

FYI, Not living in sin takes a toll on the Sex. Just to let you know.

SO happy to hear your news!! How exciting. :)

I agree with JenJen. Just pick something that means a lot to the both of you and don't sweat the small details. My SIL forgot her wedding bouquet and had to walk down the aisle with no bouquet --and that made for a cute story to tell! Everything will work out. :)

Congrats! Go to Barnes & Noble and get yourself a little wedding planner this way you know you are covering everything. Funny I'd say to do it over again I would elope! But I agree the whole ceremony etc...is a dream.

Wooooot! How fun!!!! I regret that we didn't have a professional photographer come in. Because I had a small wedding I figured that it wasn't really necessary because everybody would be taking pictures. But... a professional takes a very different brand of pictures! I would DEFINITELY spring for them:)

How exciting! October is just around the corner! I love small weddings. I feel they are more intimate. Many times, theres 200-300 ppl at weddings, and half of them or more, you don't really care for anyways.
SO, for ideas! I bought this little recipe book about pumpkin recipes, I think that pumpin pie looks delicius and I know that pumpkin soup is as well. I googled 'october wedding' and I saw that people were playing a lot with colors, they matched it to the leaves or went with dark purple and silver (for accessories etc..) BUT I think you should keep it simple, as the leaves will be colorful enough and you can take gorgeous pictures. I think that getting a professional photographer is key! If you can't/don't want to afford it, I suggest you hire a start up photographer, that just finished his training or had a self training, Check out their portfolio, most of the time, they're just as good as those that have been around for some time and much, much cheaper. As well, I think that an Ivory wedding dress is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!It's more fuller than a plain white dress and in the fall, you're working with oranges, reds and browns, a white dress is too 'crisp', but an ivory one is just... ahh. :-)

Ooh, congrats girl! How exciting! My wedding (16 years ago) was lavish, but not by NY standards. We spent $23,000, which I do NOT recommend. My best advice is to splurge on the food and the music. Those are the two things that MAKE a reception, whether it's big or small.

You are so CREATIVE, that I can't imagine that you need any ideas. What are your fav colors? What music do you love? What makes you smile? I can't wait to hear what you decide on doing.
