Creative Saturday

After having a full week of rain here in Southern California, I couldn't wait to get outdoors and see what nature was out there, waiting to be discovered. The snow capped mountains are gorgeous!

The best part of living here in the desert is that it's really a desert oasis...palm trees mixed in with sand and really, very few cacti. So, the beauty exists all year round but it's not always easy to enjoy when it's scorching hot out.

I spent my Saturday taking pictures and with my daughters and Son In Boo. What better way to spend the day, right?

I did include pictures of the inari that I made earlier in the week.

Were you creative today?

I've never heard of inari but they look good!

Where did you find the tofu pockets? Glad you were able to make them for Boo. :)

I made my creamy basil chicken on yellow basmati rice again, but this time I added a side of straw mushrooms and button mushrooms. That's my 'creative' for today.

The Inari looks wonderful! On Saturday I made a White Bean Minestrone soup which was very tasty, but I would not make it again. It was cold (8 degrees) so I only took big poodle Halle for a walk, much to the distress and gnashing of teeth of the other 3 little poodles... we met a lady near some woods who was standing alone in the road holding a leash. She said her dog ran into the woods after a moose. I restrained myself from asking her why the dog was off-leash. Anyway she said she was going to get her car and return to the spot and hopefully her dog would return. I hope she was successful.

Beautiful pictures! All that snow doesn't make me think of sunny California, though.

Lately, my creativity is when I can slowly uncross my legs without yelping from old knees, or walking across the floor without sounding like Jiffy Pop on a hot burner.

What is inari? I made my bed, does that count as creative?

Yep, the rain storm dumped a lot of gorgeous snow on the mountains-- great pictures!

I was creative Saturday and cooked all day. Now the freezer is stocked so cooking dinner every night will be a little easier around here.

Have a great week!
