It's Thursday again...if you've learned something...don't forget to share it!
1) I’m ashamed to admit it but I lie to my dogs. When I want them to eat their food, I tell them that it looks absolutely delicious! This morning I said, “Look guys, this morning you have stew! Yummy!”
2) I am so loving my Grey’s Anatomy Wii game. What better way
to do surgery without getting my hands dirty. Now, if only I could figure out how to make money while playing it.
3) I have avoidance issues…I have a few things that I need to do
but I am chicken. I know that I need to get fitted for
bras that fit. My girls are “screaming” and I can’t wait to wiggle
out of them before the day is over. But, the thought of being
measured….sends me sweating. I also hate, hate, avoid, did I say, hate…balancing my checkbook. I already know that the funds are low so why see it in writing?
4) My dogs are co-dependent. They will starve unless I stand by their food dishes and watch them while they eat. The minute I walk away, they are done. Yesterday, I wasn’t home when Boo fed them and they refused to eat. When I walked in the door, they ran to their food.
5) When I don’t even realize it, I play air piano when I’m driving. I caught myself “playing” when I saw someone staring at me with their mouth hanging open.
6) Football would be a much better sport if it was ran by women. First off, unnecessary pushing, face guarding, unnecessary roughness…all of that would be cause for sitting the bench in a time out the rest of the game. Then, before the game starts, each team would have to shake hands and greet each other friendly like. (By the way, I’ve learned so much reading the book by Holly Robinson Peete – Get Your Own Damn Beer, I’m Watching the Game. I can tell I’m annoying amazing him with my new found knowledge.)
7) It’s nice getting together with friends from high school after 28 years. So much time has passed that all of the childish antics are far behind.
8) Two year olds don’t have much to contribute to the dinner conversation so Baby Boo spends her time saying, “Mmm mmm mmm mm” with every bite. Every now and then, she’ll say, “I love you Momo” or “I love you Daddy” and then take another bite. I can’t wait until she’s at the age where we don’t have to discuss Sponge Bob and Patrick like they are long lost friends.
9) Mary, the lady at the assisted living place remembered me yesterday and her face lit up like a neon light when I said I was going to make her goodies the next time I came. She struggled to say something and then came out with something that sounded like “bread”. A lady after my own heart…I can eat bread and butter for days…especially sourdough.
10) It feels so good to set small goals and achieve them…if only it’s just for a day.
What have you learned?

You are brilliant and we have some of the same issues - as in the bra fitting avoidance. Maybe we should go together! :) I also do the air piano thing.
I love that Mary still remembers you!
Very funny post. (BTW, you should never lie to your dogs...how will they ever trust you again? lol) I understand the bra fitting thing and the football thing. Ha!
Love your lists.....and have learned a few of the same things....
My dog does exactly the same thing - he wants me THERE. What is it about that? My family gives me a hard time because my poochie is sooooo spoiled Co-dependent...Love the fact that you are reaching the woman at the nursing home. It melts my heart to read about it.
Love the post. This is what I've learned.
I've learned not to wear a bra. No one looks at a 72 year old woman breasts anyway. If they did they would have to look very low.
I've learned that I don't care when people look at me when I'm playing air guitar or dancing when I hear music I like. Most of the time they just laugh at the old woman or look at me with pity.
I've learned that most of my high school friends are dead.
Thanks for visiting my blog. It allowed me to find you.
Ever since that Oprah show about wearing the right size bra aired, I've been afraid of a G cup....wish I was kidding.
Would you do a book review of Holly R. Peate's book so we know if we should buy it?
I just love Thursdays here. The bra thing, get~er~done! You will be amazed what it will do for you physically and mentally. 'The girls' and you deserve it!
Fooooooball as they call it 'round these parts is another issue. Hubby tests me all the time. He was watchin' the game last night when I be-bopped into the family room asking where the game was being played. He turned and answered it's at the Rose Bowl. I could tell he was waiting for the next question when I replied, " oh, it's in Pasadena," and be-bopped away! The look on his face, the man didn't think I knew where the Rose Bowl was.
He sometimes forgets I played center on my Sorority's football team. Heeeeheeehe!
Have one fantastic day and may God bless it!!!
I love to read your Thursday lists.
I have been saying for years that a woman will one day play in the NFL. No one believes me. Or maybe they're afraid to believe me because of how a woman would change the game!
As for the bra thing...it will change your life. OK. Maybe it's not that dramatic but it's worth it!
LOL, I can sooo imagine you air-playing the piano !!!
I always love what you learn...some of it is heartwarming and some of it is so funny I laugh out loud.
I've learned that it's time to "let go" of my 18 year old and let him be who he is because I know he's "on the right track" and I'm good with that.
I'm loving Christella's comment about people looking at a 72 year old's breasts and needing to look "low"...I was just talking about how much my body has shifted and how much more it's got to "go"!! :)
Oh my gosh, your dogs crack me up! They are such mamma boys (or girls)!!
My dog is definitely a mamma's boy too, he's a great dane so he's a huge dog but the biggest baby! He needs his mamma :o)!
WHOA! Hold the phone...there's a Grey's Anatomy Wii game? And I'm just now learning of this?? Holy surgical surprises batman! I'm so excited right now. Thank you SOO much for sharing that bit of info. This is why I love blogging, you always learn something new. You just made my week sweetie, so thanks for stopping by my blog! :-D
Did I tell you yet that I really like your chocolate background? Because I sure do!
You can perform surgeries in a Wii game? This I need to look into!
Greys has a Wii game? Is McDreamy in it? Do you get to change his clothes? I am just asking for a friend. LOL.
I hear you on the bra fitting. I was in the same boat. But once I did it (and got it over with) I LOVED the bras and they really did fit better and were far more comfortable.
Your whole list is great and I'm sure the dog will forgive you for lying :-)
Have a great weekend.
xo
I have a two year old and love reading about it. Thanks for sharing you've captured a lot of good points.
I love Cristella's comments too!
Okay, there are enough people here touting the bra fitting thing that I just may have to do it. When I can build up enough courage.
Air piano? Yep, me too.
What have I learned? That driving in the snow is not nearly as frightening as it was just a couple of years ago - I don't know if the lack of panic comes with age, or because I've gone through REAL hellish situations. Either way, the snow I went through tonight was magical!
I'm sooooo behind on my blog reading, and just now have read several of yours. I LOVE the "mistake" post! And I would have expected nothing less from you than to carry on and make the best of it.
The vlog I'm curious to hear, but that will have to wait until later; all noise is forbidden right now, since I left work early and really don't want Fred to know I'm home yet!
I love your things you've learned. I need to start paying better attention to things oh and talking to Jack more. He's too busy training me.
I have learned that you and I are definitely identical twins. I'm amazed at all the "dittos" we share. I either play air piano, or drums, depending on the song. I also try to coerce my furbabies into eating their "yummy" food when most of the time it looks like barf and smells like it too.
Two things that I learned recently (I know you can relate)...never try to iron a stubborn shirt collar with the shirt on. I had a difficult time explaining the hickey looking mark on my chest area to my co-workers and feeling like a dumb, dumb. Another thing I learned is that when you're wearing acrylic nails, lighting a candle can be a real hazard. I lit my nail on fired and melted that sucker down bigtime.Oh, and acrylic nails stink when burned. One more thng I learned...on the one day you choose to walk out of the house without make up, your hair barely combed, and wearing ratty clothes will be the ONE time you bump into someone at the grocery store that you haven't seen in ages. You and I are two peas in a pod!
Aloha,
I totally enjoyed my visit, looks like we have a lot in common, In the dog world I am the Alpha too, that explains a lot about your dogs behavior:) avoidance???naaaah..aren't we Queens of our own Kingdoms,? do what want when we want! no worries, I'm a new follower...loved it
Aloha wishes from across the sea
Brandi
