Random Bits and Pieces

Today is the first day that I actually feel close to getting back to normal, whatever normal means.

Last night, as I fought this bug/throat thing, I kept having vivid dreams. In one of the dreams, I woke myself up yelling, "Don't play me!" In the dream, I was kicking a guy in his lower regions for trying to harm my mother.
****************************

I'm so thankful that my daughter is a licensed cosmetologist. I have a standing hair appointment today. I can't leave home until she comes to my rescue.
****************************

Boo is adorably clueless when it comes to the computer. He always goes to a search engine and types in the actual website address like: www.google.com Finally, I told him, "This is where you type the address...it's why they call it an address bar."
****************************

I was tickled to talk to my 99 year old grandpa on the phone the other day. I told him who I was and once more, he said, "I don't know you." I told him that I was his son's daughter - one of the twins. He said, "How old are you?" I started thinking that it was ringing a bell and he was remembering me. I told him, "46". He replied, "No, I don't know you." He hung up without saying goodbye.
******************************

I know I'm getting old when I notice a new scratch, bruise or dent on my body and can't remember where it came from. I'm starting to feel like a used car!
******************************

Am I the only one that finds the question, "Where are you from?" confusing? I mean, am I being asked where was I born? Where do I live now? Where did I live before? Am I from another country? That question and the "What are you?" question always leaves me scratching my head.
*****************************

Speaking of scratching my head...why is it that when I'm puzzled or stumped, I scratch my head? Is my brain trying to jump start? The circuits are misfiring and causing my head to sizzle?
*****************************

Sam's been much better with his barking since wearing his bark collar. He may woof one time and then he stops. At first I felt really sorry for him but knowing that it doesn't hurt him, I'm okay.
*****************************

My daughters gave me the greatest gift when my they put their favorite music on my ipod. I am learning new artists and music that I never really would've discovered.
******************************

Too bad filling out the census isn't like entering into a million dollar sweepstakes. I filled mine out the minute it came in the mail. A bit overzealous considering it's not due until April 1st.
*****************************

You know that saying, "The early bird gets the worm" or something like that? I'm beginning to think that the bird that whistles and tweets all night is the one that gets the chick. The cheeseburger bird must've lost. No longer is he tweeting, "Cheeseburger".

Have a happy Friday everyone!

Simone,

I love where you said you are having a difficult time remembering where you got that bruise or scratch like a used car. Makes me realize again, we are so much alike.

Your thoughts and stories are clever and enjoyable to read. How sad your grandfather hung up the phone, and how nice your daughter will visit and keep you looking gorgeous!

Hi Simone, I too have the same crud and also have been having vivid dreams each night. I thought I was out of the woods but conked out on the couch last night at 6 pm!!!

The bark collar is the best solution. We have a barking law here and if a neighbor complains you get a ticket, and if there are too many complaints your dog could be removed. A bark collar is better than losing your precious pet. It works on Ginger who is a problem barker and half the time I don't even turn it on, I just put it on her and she does not know whether it is on and she won't bark. Lovely!! I might have to get one for Halle, she is beginning to bark a bit more..... xoxoxo

Your grandpa is cute! Glad you're feeling better. I know just the right Chinese herbal remedy for your throat but I doubt you can get it in the US!!

About the kitties - yeah, they're gone now, all 4 of them. Cantik and her babies are fostered by the same owner.

Overachievers fill out their census forms right away. The Source did ours right away too. It's a good thing.

I envy you that your grandpa is still alive, even if he doesn't know who you are. How cool to even be able to talk to him! You're blessed.

"Where are you from?" is about as open a question as "What do you do?" My reaction is always the same inside my head: Really? Are you serious?

I've been a used car for a couple of decades now. I totally know the feeling. You have a bit of catching up to do. ;)

Happy Weekend!!

My census form is filled out and waiting to go, too.

My Nana forgot her own daughters, but never forgot me (bugged the living daylights out of my aunts). She did however think my son was my husband.

I just laughed and laughed about your Grandpa not knowing you : ) I mean, it really isn't funny, except it is. He hangs up on you. 99 seems like it is very, very old!

I love that you have a standing hair appointment too. That is the best!
