Emotional Meltdown

Not me, although I've had my share of those too...but Baby Boo. She is truly female when it comes to emotions. Yesterday, it was sugar rush from the birthday party fun she had but today, it was just plain ol' being tired.

Nothing was agreeable to her. I know how that feels because I do that sometimes with clothes. I will pull out and try on at least 4 outfits before I find one that feels just right. In this case though, everything meant meltdown.

Three year olds are more independent but much more know it alls. They know how to do something but when you offer to help as they struggle, they don't want your help. They also know how to say, "Oopsy!" when they spill all over the floor. Then, "That's okay, the dogs will eat it." Three year olds are also good at fibbing but trying to make it sound believable. Such as, "My mommy lets me drink coffee all the time." or "My mommy gives me toothpicks to put in my mouth." Three year olds are also very testy. They know that when they do something wrong and get caught that it's worse on them so they do it and keep a look out for watching eyes. Like, stepping on the dog's tail and thinking that no one saw her. I finally told her that I have eyes in the back of my head and double ears to hear two things all at the same time. Her reply, "Nuh uh, Momo! You don't have double ears."

But when I didn't realize she was listening, she was. As I read Mickey and the Beanstalk to her, there's a part in the book where the giant says, "Fee Fie Fo Fummmm, I smell a boy and the boy is yummy. A boy is yummy to my tummy." The first thing she asked was, "He's going to eat a boy?" I said, "Well, no. He just says that boys are...umm...well....that if he had a taste for eating Mickey Mouse..." I failed completely. I just couldn't bear to tell her that the Giant really was going to eat Mickey. I hope that tonight, she is so tired that she won't dream of Giants eating little boys.

You don't have to be a tired 3 year old for melt downs. It's just that the world doesn't cut you as much slack.

I blame mine on hormones!

I have meltdowns too sometimes. Not enough rest and too much to do will do that to you! However - it's much more tolerable in 3 year olds!

BTW Love the new blog layout! It makes me less hungry than all the chocolate did. LOL

I'm sorry I'm laughing. I don't want your precious to have bad dreams, but it made me think of all the creepy books and stories we tell our kids. Really, most fairy tales are just terrible. And Mother Goose?? Awful!

Oh, don't I know it! That's what makes them so cute, though. Oh, I wasn't referring to the meltdown part, but all the rest... :)

Awwww, the little princess can be a drama queen too. I have a couple of those and I too sometimes have myself a good old-fashioned meltdown.
She's so sweet!

Ya'll have a wonderfully blessed Wednesday!!!
