Why I Married Simone

Our pastor has been doing a series the last several weeks on "Before You Say, "I Do", and it really has been a huge reminder of how much I love J and cherish the commitment that we've made together. The other night, I asked him, "Why did you marry me?" and it got me thinking that it would be great to share his response with you all. I twisted his arm asked ever so sweetly, if he'd do a guest post and here's my main man, my sweetheart, J.
My beautiful wife has asked me to write a post on why I married her so let's see if I can flesh out what that "it" factor was which moved me to ask her to be my bride.

The first thing I noticed about Simone was her positive view on life. She is a dreamer and believes she can accomplish anything she puts her mind to do.  This trait lifts me up and gives me hope and encouragement in a world that can sometimes squash my dreams.

Simone is sophisticated and down to earth as well. I see this as a perfect mix. I love how she carries herself and her style.  It brings me great joy that we can have an intellectual conversation and then other times, we can just shoot the breeze.

I cherish how she loves me. I have never had someone have such a high opinion of me. She makes me want to become a better person because I don't want to let her down.  She looks at me with such admiration and love.  It warms me to my core.

Simone's love for God is a big reason I asked her to be my wife. I needed someone in my life that loved God as much as I did. I found that in Simone. I also found a person I could partner with in fulfilling my calling to minister, teach and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

She makes the idea of the golden years seem golden and not gray. To think of how she sees life with such an artistic eye and view of innocence, I can't wait until we are totally free to spend our days together enjoying and exploring God's gift of creation.

Simone is a person of substance. She is best friend material and she is a fantastic lover in all aspects.  These were all qualities that I wanted in a wife. Simone scored a 100% in all areas.  That is what moved me to ask her to be my wife.

I promise I didn't pay him or even bribe him. :) I feel deeply about the marriage commitment. That said, I'm also going to do an upcoming post on Why I Married J".

What a wonderful post! I really liked how he said you see the best in him and he doesn't want to let you down. That's really good advice for all of us wives.
I see your positive view on life and your love for God too. You two are blessed to have each other.

Jeff and Simone what a blessing your love is to all those who come in proximity of it. The thing that leaps out for me Jeff is not compromising on finding someone who has God at the very center of their relationship as well. To me this serves as the greatest inspiration in your relationship and should remind all of us that it is God who truly holds all things together.

Colossians 1:17 (NIV)
“He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”
