Things I've Learned Thursday

1) I've learned that the support and friendship through my blog friends is unmeasurable. I read and re-read your comments and I was uplifted and filled with hope and peace again. Thank you!

2) Make time for "I" and "Me". After all, there wouldn't be time without you.

3) I turn into a mechanic and lawn maintenance person when I feel pent up frustrations. I was underneath my car yesterday, attempting to "fix" some missing screws. I also dug up some sprinklers, ready to repair. There's just something about playing in the dirt that is calming for me.

4) I love Boo and know that he loves me with every fiber of his being. I need to listen to his feelings more instead of bypassing his thoughts and doing things my way. I am very used to being "in charge" that I often forget that it's not just me but he and I.

5) Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.

6) Dog slobber has got to be on the highest chain of grossness.

7) Cleaning fish is a dangerous job. I never knew it could be possible to cut into a vein and that blood could squirt that far. When it's other people's blood, I'm okay but my own....faint.

8) I'm not sure what happened to the Partridge Family dad...why DID they have to take their gig on the road?

9) My niece is a sweetheart. She went to a youth group dance not knowing that the dancees would be developmentally challenged adults. She was patient and sweet to give her time and to dance with them.

10) Life has its many challenges but how you approach each and every one.

What have you learned?

I have learned that time does NOT heal all wounds and that eventually you develop a sense of acceptance that keeps you moving forward.

I learned that I haven't thought about The Partridge Family in a long time and now you've got me thinking....what happened to the dad?

I love how you may have tears in the evening but you see joy the next day.

I love that you love and know you are loved and know that you can't always be in control (this is a hard one for most people!).

I love that you like to get your hands dirty and work through difficulties with your hands -- you don't brood.

I'm with you about the dad on the Partridge Family...this one just made me laugh out loud!!

I'm glad you are doing better and know your joy comes in the morning. I have learned to listen to my inner voice more and others less. I think this comes with age and everyone knows I'm an old chick.

Have the best day and God bless you!!!

I've learned and I am constantly reminded through blogging, that as women we are all different yet have many of the same hopes and dreams for ourselves and our families...

#7... Ummm.... are you ok? Did you need stitches?

I too have learned that I have great blogger/cyber friends.

I love #6, yes dog slobber is ranked very high on the chain of grossness.

This has got to be the very best "Things I've Learned Thursday" post ever! Perhaps you do your best thinking in times of duress.
Like you, I've learned that bloggers have developed a very special relationship with one another. (I would delve further into this, but I happen to be writing a piece on this very subject at this time!)
Even cat hairball vomit cannot compete with dog slobber, but strawberry cheesecake thrown up in one's car on I-24 at 5:00 in the morning is a definite contender.
I've learned that I can make new blogging friends just by reading comments. Menopausal New Mom's observation about healing is practical and right on the money. I will be visiting her blog this week!
Shirley Partridge tells us in the first two minutes of the pilot episode of "The Partridge family" that her husband "died suddenly," and she was having a hard time making ends meet with only her job as a bank teller. It was only when Gloria, the lead singer of her children's little garage band, got sick on the day they had planned for "the big recording" that Shirley reluctantly agreed to step in and sing, and that's when they found their sound, Shirley quit her job, and they began touring the country and selling records.
I've learned that sometimes my exasperating trivial knowledge of old tv shows pays off.

I too have learned that we have great blogger pallies.

I'm also wondering what happened to the dad in The Partridge Family?!!!
I was a big fan of David Cassidy.

I love your #5. I, too, have learned that I need to cry it out and not hold it in and joy does come in the morning. :)

Simone,

I have learned that there are still good people left in this world that will always come through when you need it the most.

The Partridge Family dad died, right? I don't think people got divorced on TV until One Day at a Time.

Last week I was driving to work in my 14-year-old Saturn with a dent in the roof singing "I Think I Love You" along with the radio at the top of my lungs. It's those moments that make me feel super cool. And successful.

Today I learned that even though the process of going to my daughter's field hockey game is stressful, that being there is always worth it!

I'm glad you're still taking the time to blog after experiencing a major disappointment.

Blessings.

I wish I got active when I was frustrated. I usually just sleep.

Dog slobber is rather stringy and sticky and I'm totally grossing myself out now.

Thinking of you...

From this post alone, I've learned:
1. That I am not the only person for whom #8 is a great mystery of life. (My theory is that he ran off with the first Mr. man-who-was-married-to-Mrs.-Brady-before-she-was-married-to-Mr-Brady. He's another guy for whose absence no explanation was every offered.)

2. Based on #3 alone, were I single, I would marry you. ;)

I've learned that I will always miss my momma especically when I hear a song that makes me think of her.

I've learned, like you, that the blog pallies are the BEST. I've also learned how much I care about them in return--I've been thinking of you for days!!

Glad you are doing better--well, it sounds like it anyway. I hope this weekend brings you peace in your heart, mind, and life.

Number five. I've learned that one, too. It's not an easy lesson when you're right there in the midst of the weeping. But know that joy is on the way!

Miss you, Simone.

Hope this cheers you up some.
