Things I've Learned Thursday

For those of you new followers to my blog, Things I've Learned Thursday was born after I realized that there's not a day that goes by that I don't learn something new. Not everything is intellectual - most of it is pretty humorous. But, stick with me, you may end up learning something new too!

1)It's better to have a bad day of fishing than a good day scrubbing the toilets.

2) This monkey totally has too much time on his hands.

3) Latest fashion statement for Baby Boo is layering. That means, two shirts, three pairs of undies and two pairs of socks. Then, she hollers, "Momo, I need help with my shoes" because her socks are too thick to even fit inside of the shoes.

4) I need to remember that my blue tooth redials the last person called, when accidentally pressed. Married Boo got an earful of me singing at the top of my lungs, until I heard her scream, "Mommy" and I realized that I had dialed her.

5) Vegan cornbread is heavenly. (According to Married Boo.)

6) It never fails that as I walk through a parking lot, I'm always the one that steps in spit or gum.

7) When my Wii Fit asks me, "What is the reason for you weight gain?" There isn't a response that I can choose that says, "I dunno, you tell me." I think Nintendo needs to add that as well.

8) Even if it's just letting someone go in front of me at the store, I am feeling great doing something kind for someone else each day.

9) I'm avoiding the inevitable. I need to have a yard sale. It's been on my mind that I have more "junk" than what I really need.

10) When Baby Boo sneezes, always have at least a box of kleenex close by for booger slime face.

What have you learned?

I always seem to be the one who steps in stuff too.

I love your little reminder to do something nice for others. I am going to do something nice for my husband today...I'll let him live to see tomorrow ;)

Oh, and I love your suggested answer to Wii fit. Hilarious.

My Wii Fit is such a passive aggressive jerk, LOL. I hate when it asks me if I'm going to bed soon, or why I've gained weight, or when it tells me "You're a little shaky aren't you?" (Well, duh! I'm bending to the side and standing on one foot!)

Once I stepped on one of those rainbow oil puddles and it stuck to my shoe in a globby, filmy, oily bubbly mess! It was the weirdest thing ever.Ever since then I've been terrified to step on them.

I've learned that we need to do more for one another and step outside our comfort zones and really show the love of God to people everywhere. That one difference in someone's life can cause a great chain reaction. Love your weekly blessings!

If you get a chance, stop by and participate in some of my giveaways, most of them end this weekend! I'd love to have you join!

Good grief, that video is disgustingly hilarious!

I had no idea a WiiFit would ask such a tactless question. The very idea! I'd been considering getting one, but NOT NOW! The first time it asked me about my weight gain, it'd find itself in the same junk pile with the bathroom scales.

I've learned that for every hour I write on my book, I must do about 8 hours of research. Could time stand still for a while, please?

Oh my goodness - I'm goint to post that monkey peeing in the mouth video on my facebook page ~ hilarious! :-) Great list as always Simone!

I've learned that people still give compliments and that I enjoy serving in a leadership role. I'm happy that both happened to me today.

P.s. - I'm doing okay, still waiting for answers. I don't think I have a food allergy but time will tell. Thanks for thinking of me.

#7 Made me laugh so hard I cried. When my dd asked what was so funny I told her (still laughing) her response was "oh".

Guess if your a slender 16 year old you just don't see the humor :)

#8 is so true! Even a small act of kindness can make one feel good for the rest of the day. :)

I have learned that I am a much better person when I am not sleep-deprived.

The Wii actually asks about your weight gain???? OMG-- that would be a deal breaker for me-- So would having a monkey that can pee in his own mouth :-)
