Things I've Learned Thursday

I may be down but I'm definitely not out and in fact, I'm looking forward to when I feel ready to blog about all that is going on in my life at the moment. In the meantime...here are the Things I've Learned...

1) Single Boo uses the word "epic" quite a bit. For that reason, I discovered that she has rubbed off on me and I use the word "random" quite a bit. Don't know why I chose the word "random" but it seemed to fit.

2) Chocolate covered animal cookies are yummy but not when they melt in one big glob. I feel like I'm biting into a chocolate covered zoo in the form of a ball.

3) Courage comes in many forms. I've been smelling a lot of courage lately!

4) It's okay to cry over a material thing as it's leaving. Good bye my beautiful piano. Enjoy your new family. They are going to love you!

5) I was talking to a lady from Sweden yesterday and it was so sweet to hear her say, "Yah?" after all of her questions. I didn't know whether to reply "yah" or "yes" in return.

6) I gave away a brand new doggy stroller to a college student yesterday. She was so grateful that I wanted to find more things to give to her just to see her face light up. (She gave me a college lanyard to show her appreciation.)

7) Seeing deer by the side of the highway brings out anxiety that I never knew existed in me. I found myself talking to them and telling them, "Stay there! Don't you dare cross this highway!"

8) A good friend was telling me that in Indiana, it gets soooo cold that when she gets a hot flash, she freezes and sweats at the same time. Does sweat freeze?

9) Spider webs creep me out...especially walking right into them. I always wonder where the spider is that made such a huge masterpiece and pray that it's not crawling down my back at the moment!

10) I am happy to say that I have influenced my peeps to adopt one of my most commonly used phrases lately, in describing the weather...."It's hotter than snot." If you hear anyone say this, more than likely, they are related to me.

What have you learned? (Hopefully, it's more exciting than what I've learned!)

I've learned I can answer your question...does sweat freeze. While totally bundled like the Michelin Man doin' chores in the cold of winter one does work up a sweat. Mama told me that real women perspire but sorry mama...I sweat! It beads up on my face and lashes and freezes into little ice droplets. I always love Thursdays at your place!

God bless ya and have a terrific day sweetie!

I wouldn't mind using the phrase hotter than snot from now on. I just might do it!

You were kind to give that stroller away to someone who needed it.

It feels good to pay it forward.

I talk to deer on the side of the road too. We have a lot around here and I've hit 3 in my lifetime, so they make me anxious too!
I just walked into a spiderweb last night. :(

I NEVER grow tired of your lists! I always learn something new about you from them, which I love!

It is definitely hotter than snot here in Florida! I think the snot is even on fire!

I hope you're able to get a new piano someday. Or maybe you'll meet some beautiful new person who will invite you over to tune theirs. Ya never know, yah? ;-)

I learned that my daughter does NOT like a pony tail in her hair.

I learned that the history of ice cream is interesting and even better when you can sample flavors while hearing about it. :-)

I learned that age is just a number and attitude is everything.

May you be safe and brave and optimistic in your new journey ahead! Hugs and I'm thinking of you.

P.S. -- Did you get my package? It said it was delievered today by the USPS.

It does feel very good to give away something to somebody who truly appreciate the gift and the gesture. :)

I've learned that I picked the WORST year to start a veggie garden for the 21st time... bc it's hotter then snot!

Hope things in your life work themselves out nicely for you.

I usually like to say "it's hot as balls." lol.

So sweet of you to give things away. but wondering about the piano?

Simone, I hope everything is okay with you.

I know what you mean about how it feels good to give things away. Before I left Las Vegas, I put a bunch of stuff on Craig's List "Free" site. A cute young girl came over and took my couch, futon, bookshelves, kitchen table... I was walking around saying, "What else can I give you?" It felt so good to know that someone was happy to have the things that had run their course for me.

Sending positive vibes to you. XOXO

#9 YES, I know what you mean! EW! AHHH! Scary.

#10 If I ever hear anyone say that I'm gonna whirl around and yell "do you know Simone?!?!?!" :oD

I hope you're having a lovely day and I'm hoping that whatever is going on in your life, you are well and content. As you know, we are hear to "listen" whenever you are ready!
Hugs.

I live in Indiana and learned from my mother to quickly stick my head in the freezer during a hot flash.....now if I could just sleep next to the fridge, all would be fine.

Hey Simone, I'm totally with you on the deer by the side of the road. We get so many in this part of the country although I saw a huge black bear running in the ditch a couple of months ago which gave me a new reason to hate driving at night.

I've learned that people don't like it when you don't do what they want you to do. :( I hate trying to figure folks out sometimes.

I haven't learned anything too exciting today..... I learned that the cat will rip up an entire roll of papertowels when we are gone for more than 5 hours. Darn it!

Congratulations on smelling so much courage!

I'm with you on deer talk. If hubby's driving, I say, "Deer!Deer!Deer!" But if I'M driving, I say, "No, please don't...No!"

Spider webs...UGH! I once walked through one in the dark and about two minutes later, (in the living room) found that a HUGE garden spider was crawling down onto my forehead!!!!

I've learned that as soon as you make a Disneyworld reservation, you'll get a better offer in the mail.

And if you're really exhausted and fall asleep before Lucy comes on, but you wake up and it's one of your favorite episodes, you find you're not too exhausted after all.

And that watering flowers and watching puppies play in the moonlight at 2am makes for the most relaxing time of the day.

Whenever i speak to someone from a foreign country I have a tendency to take on their accent...don't ask me why 'coz I have no answer, ha! I'm of Swedish heritage and ever since seeing the (cut) version of "Fargo" the Swede really comes out in me whenever Dear Hubby and I get to talking about it or something goofy we see. Oh, yah...don'tcha know.
