Things I'm Lovin' Thursday

1) Hearing about my beautiful niece running like the wind for track and I'm missing her.

2) The Flinstones on a Saturday morning with a cup of coffee.

3) A bed!!! A REAL bed! Since August, I have been sleeping on an air mattress, that is, until Amelie the kitty dug her nails in and it sprung a leak. Waking up on the floor at 2:00 am wasn't in the plans for a Thursday. But, it happened for a reason because after sleeping on the floor for three days, I've got a bed.

4) Playing around with obnoxious phone salespeople that just don't take no for an answer. I make an effort to confuse them. Here's an example: I'm calling to speak to someone in your call center: Me: We don't have a call center. Her: Is there someone in charge in the senior level? Me: Senior level as in age? Her: No ma'am, I'm looking to speak to the call center rep. Me: We don't have a call center. Her: how about an IT person. Me: We don't have an it person either. We all go to whoever is available at the time and then we tag them and say, "You're it." Her: You're telling me you don't have a call center? Me: No call center here. Unless we have one and nobody sent me the memo. Her: Who handles your calls in call center? Me: We have telephones but no one makes calls from a place that looks like a call center. Her: Thank you for your time. Click.

5) The original Taco Flavored Doritos

6) This is the Stuff by Francesca Battestelli - It's been my life song the last few weeks.

7) This quote by Dr. Seuss: Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive that is Youer than You. - Dr. Seuss

8) Little reminders left behind of how unexpected surprises come my way. This came from Miss Kris and her adorable grandbabies who I'm sure had a great time playing on the couch that she gave to my daughter and I. I carry this in my purse as a reminder that He never fails.

9) The flowers blooming outside my house. The splash of color reminds me that spring is almost here!

10) The answer to prayers that the difficult person I've been dealing with has been nice and making my day much more pleasant.

What are you lovin' Tbursday?

I'm loving this post! The Flintstones was always one of my favorites, and so was and is Dr Seuss. I love that quote.
I've also been enjoying that song and was talking about it to a co-worker today, after I was complaining about my computer mouse not working well. It's part of the "stuff"!

Since we're new here, we've been getting "Welcome Wagon" fake calls offering different services. I now answer "I'm the maid. They won't be back until winter."

I'm lovin' this post girl! That Dr. Seuss was wise beyond his time!

Your 'call~center' phone call just cracked me up!!! I get tickled at people who dial the 'wrong' number and ya have to convince 'em..."Really, there is no Mable here." 'A real conversation yesterday.

Have a great weekend filled with warm blessing from above sweetie!

I had to stop over and see your blog after reading the title...see me at Lindaloveschocolate. Nice blog....good to sleep in a real bed (I bet). Love the dialog iwth the callers......I sometimes say I am awful: Hubby left me, cat died, etc. Have a great weekend.

I love that Dr. Seuss quote!

Ugh, on the one hand I kind of understand that these telephone salespeople are merely doing their jobs (and not an easy one at that), but sometimes they don't know when to get off your back.

I like the song you've chosen. I also like "Feel the Rain on your Skin" and "It's the Climb," ironically sung by two very young people.

Glad things are progressing along with your home. It may be slow, but it'll come together.

Great "conversation" in #4. lol.

I love Dr. Seuss and all his witty, insightful quotes! My favorite is "Be who you are and say what you mean b/c those who matter don't mind and those who mind dont' matter." I try to remind myself of those words whenever some stranger or insignifcant being begins to upset me.

Great list Simone! Hope you're doing well!

There's nothing like a good bed! Mine is calling to me right now!

As for what I'm lovin' (on a Sunday): getting lots of writing time in; blogging in bed; hamburgers on the grill for dinner; spring just around the corner.

You are a genius at those telemarketing calls! I've never come across that one before, though. The call center question.

For the past few months a health organization has been calling asking for a donation. Now mind you, I am certainly not opposed to giving. It's just that I have my priorities...orphans and widows, the poor, flood victims, etc. I don't usually give to health funds. This place would not give up. They called five times a day. Finally my husband answered the phone and said "If you stop calling for one week, I'll give you $10."

Love that song by Francesca. Downloaded it to my ipod a while back, and still playing it everyday...
