Just When I Thought It Was Safe

Two things I know for sure...stuff happens...when you least expect it. You can either laugh or cry.

AND

the biggest lesson learned is there is still grace in spite of it all.

My computer took a dive and breathed its last breath. I sat horrified. There was no warning, no burp or cough...just...silence.

I felt like Alexander having a horrible, no good, terrible day but mine was magnified times 2 million.

J wrapped his arms around me and said, "Honey, I'm sorry your day isn't going well. Is there something I can do to make it better?"

The grouchy me said, "I just want to punch a wall."

The loving, sweetheart J said, "Here, just punch me and you'll feel better."

I told him, "Nope. It would make me feel worse...way worse. I can't and won't hurt you." (Although my punch would've probably felt like a flea tickling him.)

So, he held me for a minute and the phone rang. In a minute, my bad day began to take a turn for the better. Jarebearboo blessed me with her laptop. Basically, she told me to get "quit my sniveling" and I did.

Then, both her and Married Boo came over to visit. In the short amount of time they were here, I realized just how much I miss them both. Life felt like my kind of normal for awhile. We laughed and they promised that we'd do a girls weekend and SOON.

I needed to remind myself that sometimes tears come before laughter.

Another thing that I've learned is that it may awhile before I find my "normal" here. When I do, it will be all that I've dreamed it would be.

PS--There's a new arrival on it's way. (hint...he's fluffy and has four legs and is darn cute! More on the new arrival soon to come.)

What a beautiful way to put in it in perspective!

Also a gentle reminder to not give up before you see the "Full" picture.

As always, THANK YOU!

This is so typically you. Even if J had not offered himself as a sacrificial punching bag, even if Jarebearboo and MarriedBoo had not come to cheer you, you would have pulled through this with your usual grace - I've seen you do it too many times before.

Oh, your laptop - I hope you didn't lose any important files or photos or anything.

Ooooh, sooo looking forward to meeting the new member of the family!

I'm sorry! My computer took a dive last week, so I know how you feel, but at least mine was fixable.
So glad you have J and the Boo's to comfort you! And your great attitude always comes through. :)

Hi Simone, So glad this post has a happy ending and you have a working computer again. It's such a terrible feeling with a computer dies-- really scary. Glad the kids got you one that's up and working.

And a new pooch on the way :-) Woo-hoo!!!

My daughter's is on its last legs and she was griping about me "forcing" her to copy all of her writing, photos and school papers onto our terabyte server. If she only knew ... right? Glad your girl came through for you (with appropriate sympathy, right?) and glad J was such a sweetie.

If that had happened to me I would have been curled up on the floor in the corner in the fetal position in total hysterics. That's just me.

Can't wait to get more info on the new arrival. Sounds precious.

A new addition? Do tell.

I am the Queen of computer issues. My husband can be on it for hour after hour and the minute I touch the dang thing, it does something weird. Ok, maybe I exaggerate just a little, but I swear his lap top is out to get me. Glad to hear your are better now.

I love that you "keep it real". I identify with you. We gals can turn our emotions around on a dime, can't we?! Life is never boring with us around...So glad you're still computin'.
