The Christmas holiday gives me an opportunity to get extremely traditional, yet, very sentimental. I am a creature of habit and out of that habit comes a few of my favorite things....weird, sentimental..however it can be defined....
1) The smell of wood burning in the fireplace.
2) Christmas carols playing over and over again until New years day.
3) Grits, ham and biscuits on Christmas morning.
4) The look of surprise on the faces of my loved ones.
5) Merry Christmas Charlie Brown and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
6) Homemade ornaments and baked goods to give to friends and family.
7) My Teen Boo's cry of "Santa Claus has been here! Santa Claus has been here!" on Christmas morning.
8) Seeing Christmas through the eyes of a child.
9) A color wheel. I'd give anything to have one again.
The list goes on and on...but one of my biggest favorites is the song, "O Come All Ye Faithful!"
For those of you asking what a color wheel is...I give you...

LOVE this list!!!
Merry Christmas to you!
What lovely memories and sentiments. I wish I could have a real fire with logs again. we used to when I was a child.
I ahve been playing carols on my pc at work all week - I'm not sick of them - yet!
Not sure about the grits and ham business though - in ours it is either bacon rolls or cheese on toast.
I agree with all those, except the color wheel. Why do I have no idea what a color wheel is? Please advise. It may be a the missing pice of my life I have been searching for!
I love all of those too except I thought a color wheel was how you pick out paint?
My favorite song is "O Holy Night". I'll be blogging about why in the near future....
I love the *look* of suprise too although now my kids usually know what they are getting for Christmas.
I miss the look of suprise.
My blogging community tends to call me a scrooge! lol I'm not a holiday person in the least...but a few of your things on your list i can relate to!
1) The smell of wood burning in the fireplace.
3) This is just food in general to me. :)
5) Merry Christmas Charlie Brown and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
My personal fave is A Christmas Story!!!
Great list, really made me smile.
Love the list. I especially love the idea of grits. Grits with cheddar cheese. Now I'm hungry.
Those would make my list too. I could add the smell of the live christmas tree. It's the smell that keeps on giving for up to 6 months every time you vacuum!
Merry Christmas!
PS I'm with Jill..what is the color wheel? I might need one too!
that's an absolute great list!
