My over the hill friends

In my 25 random things, I mentioned that I was lonely after moving to a new town. The town that I now live in has the ratio of about 85% senior citizens and the rest a bit younger. Don't get me wrong, those seniors are zipping around in their golf carts and dressing like 20 on a good day! But it also makes it challenging to have friends that are close to my age to hang with.

In the meantime, I've had three elderly ladies adopt me as their new friend. They want to "hang out" with me. One lady in particular asked for my phone number and is so wanting to take me out to lunch. She talks my ear off about her medical diagnosis and treatments so I have a feeling, that's going to be the topic at lunch as well.

As much as I love them because they are so cute, I'm also afraid of their dependency on me their "hip" friend.

Boo thinks it's great! He says that at least I'll stay out of trouble! Little does he know that where I am, trouble follows. I just hope the old ladies have enough money for bail! LOL

GIrl- Brandon is leaving on the 14th and won't be home until the 25th. I hope you will hang out with me sometime during that period. I am 37 years old, medical issue free, unless you count my PMS and emotional disorders...But we don't have to talk about them! I can't wait to see you. WIll Boo let you have a playdate with me?

Maybe you'll have some fun! One good thing you will always feel youthful around them! I lived in a retirement village with my parents for a year about 1o years ago and I love riding around in their golf cart. They were the youngest ones in there community and my mom had a hard time with it at first. There were a lot of wheel chair traffic jams :)! You'll like it give it a try! I am sure there are some others your age there!

At that age they probably plan on having a ball, no doubt they'll teach you a few tricks too.

My Bucket List

My twin sis and I have bucket lists. The funny thing is that they aren't literally on paper. They are in our heads. For instance, my Nay Nay called me and said, "You won 't believe what I did!  I got big girl shoes…for my bucket list." "Really? Big girl shoes?" I asked. I knew exactly what she meant. When we were born, and back in the day when braces could or should be recommended for feet that in-toed, we weren't given that joy. As a result, walking in high heels can often be a challenge. My Nay Nay decided that she was going to cross off one thing on that bucket list and found a deal of 10 pairs of heels. (Not one but 10. She went for the gusto.) Each day, she practiced walking in her big girl shoes until the moment finally came and she ROCKED those heels! Together we have decided that we WILL cross off stuff on our growing bucket lists. Some of those things are on both of our lists while others are our very own "personal" bucket lists...
