Dream a Little Dream

When I was little, I had a dream that was so real. I was in first grade. (Amazing that I still remember it.) I had a crush on a boy named Brian Crowder. In my dream, we got married and after we kissed, he told me to call him Bruce. I remember going to school and trying to tell him that we were married because I dreamed we were and that he told me to call him Bruce.

A few years later, I dreamed that I had a baby ( a real one) and it was no bigger than my thumb. Then, on my way to school, I lost it in the car. I was frantically looking for my baby, underneath the seats and near the steering wheel.

After I had both of my daughters, I dreamed about having another baby. I don’t know whether I had adopted her or if she was a child that I had given birth to. But, I remember to this day, what she looks like. She felt like mine. In fact, it may have been a dream but I woke up missing her, longing to hold her once again.

As I got older, I realized that my dreams were often creative explosions or meltdowns after a long hard day of play or work. Sometimes, they seemed so real that I’d wake up crying. Other times, I’d laugh in my sleep and then wake up, still laughing.

Now my dreams have become more profound at times – other times, bizarre. In some of the dreams, I’m watching as if I’m a viewer, watching the events take place – not participating. Other times, I’m the “main star” of my dream. In my dreams, I’m writing a song, to wake up and not remember the words nor the melody. In other dreams, I’m fighting for my life, defending it to the very end, when instead of dying, I wake up.

I’m not much for interpreting dreams. I know that there may be meanings behind them but maybe it’s not for me to figure out. For instance, I have dreamed (dreamt (although I would rather not refer to it as past tense) that I couldn’t find my car in the parking lot. I dream this over and over. Sometimes, I’m laughing at the shear stupidity and other times, I’m frantic and ready to call the police and report it stolen.

I think that dreams are wishes that are waiting to be born (the good ones, that is). Other times, dreams are failures, disappointments and fears.

What do you dream? Has it come true?

My dreams are almost always bizarre or very random. I dreamt the other night that it was pouring and I forgot to roll up my car windows. It was definitely a dream though, because I rarely ever roll down my windows. It would mess up my hair. I can't have that.

I think our dreams are us trying to make sense of what is going on in our subconscious....deeper than we realise.

I often have dreams about water, either drowning or being swept away or swallowing water - and they usually have related to periods of time where I have felt out of control, or out of my depth.

I think that there is definitely something in this whole dream interpretation malarkey!

I used to dream the same dream whenever I stayed at my grandma's house. It had a witch in it.

I don't always remember my dreams when I wake up, but sometimes fleeting snippets of dreams that I'd dreamed long ago would come back and I'd remember having dreamed of it before, but for the life of me, couldn't remember what happened beyond that little snippet... and then just like the rest of that dream that it was a part of, even that little snippet would fade away. Weird, huh?

I only remember bits and pieces of my dreams sometimes, but mostly I just remember I had a dream but have no idea what it was about.

Very interesting post.

I still have recurring dreams of me sitting for examinations and being totally unprepared!

I love when people pay attention to their dreams! Some of my stories ideas came from my dreams, & a lot of my anxieties manifest in the dream realm. After I had my ectopic pregnancy, I dreamt many times about losing a child, or being pregnant and terrifed of giving birth. I remember once, I was sitting on the edge of a dark pool, and there were babies (or one, I can't remember0 floating, dead inside.
The past 2 nights,I dreamt about Babygirl! She was crying in both dreams, and in both instances I was to protect her. Tonight, after months of NO communication, my ex calls me!!! Can you believe this??! I didm't pick up, but I called him back, and then he didn't pick up. It's so odd, I wonder what he wants. It's weird I dreamt of his daughter & he calls me...

OMG! Mr. J was just telling me that he has a recurring dream that he can't find his car in a parking lot.

My interpetation of his dream is that he doesn't know how to get out of a certain situation and that his why he can't find his car.

I hardly remember my dreams, I did have one that terrifies me. I remember it even after all these years. Tragic, horrible, and sad.

I obsess over it, worry about it, and pray often regarding it.
that was 14 years ago, and it's still fresh in my mind.

My dreams are really random. I have some pretty strange one, but the worse are the ones that are violent and scary. I tend to have those often.

I love to hear about people's dreams. I always try to interpret what mine mean, but always come up short. Most often I dream about what I saw on TV the night before or I'll dream about something in my life. Last night I was dreaming about mowing the grass. It had to be done right then and there before it started to rain and it had to be mowed a certain way. Funny thing is, that's what I'm thinking today..which way I'll mow and will I get it done before it rains today!

I believe the dreams that I remember right when I wake up are messages from God. Other times, in the middle of my day, I'll realize that I dreamed something the night before. Sometimes they're just creative silliness. Other times, they are reflections of me trying to process something going on in my life.

When I was little girl, I always dreamed I was walking on a path and a monkey rolled over the hill. That's it. Silly little dream of mine.
