My Mother's Day in Pictures
My Mother's day was one of the best ever!!! My daughters will attest to what I'm getting ready to share. When I was married, I got this huge knot in my stomach before and on Mother's day. Why? Because my ex would make that day a living hell for me. His mother would chime in and it would turn into me finally saying, "No more. Let's just pretend like it's just another day." The last Mother's day before the divorce, he took the girls out shopping for a Mother's day gift. They came home from shopping in tears. He told them, "Your mother is fat, in case you haven't noticed. You need to get her something in size LARGE." Either way, from that point on, I dreaded this day.
Flash forward to now...the day before, I had the greatest masterpiece dinner of sheer elegance prepared by TV Boo (since she's almost not a teen anymore). She made crab legs with melted lemon butter, asparagus, mashed potatoes and french bread and Ben and Jerry's for dessert (which I couldn't stuff down.) It was THE best meal ever.
The next day, my L0ver Boo prepared me a breakfast fit for a queen. He even made homemade biscuits from scratch. I so heart that man!!! He had to head to work but just in that small expression, it made my heart smile all day long!
Then, Married Boo and my Son in Boo came over to celebrate. Now, they know that I love surprises. They got me good! After reading the touching card, Son in Boo said, "I hope you share your animal crackers with me." Well, I love animal crackers but he had spoiled the surprise, at least I thought. I pulled out my box of animal crackers and opened it up, ready to snack and peered inside. There was an Ipod Nano inside. The shock on my face could've lit a room on fire!
I cherished this time I had with all of them, laughing together and just relaxing and talking. It reminds me first of all of how I've got the great daughters in the whole world and they've got great guys they are sharing their lives with which makes me even richer.
There is nothing that can replace the happiness and love that I receive from all of them. I'm one of the most luckiest, blessed mommies and wife to be's in all the world.
