I can't stand it anymore!!!
It's getting close to due date or should I say R date as in reduction at the job. I can feel it. Everyone can feel it. A few people toss their cookies in the bathroom from being so keyed up and stressed. Others chatter or laugh nervously, while others roll their eyes occasionally. Me? I try to read between lines and look for clues as to if I'm "the chosen one" to be a part of the "reduction gang". My boss used to walk with all of us from my department of three as we left for the day…he no longer does that. He greeted the other co-walker and talked in depth to her and not to me. **Gulp.**
I feel like the ladies on Twilight Zone's episode called Noon Day Sun where it's hotter than hot and they keep saying to one another, "When will this dreadful heat end?" They are drenched in sweat and stripped down to their slips. (If it was me, I'd be one nude girl. Forget having any material between me and the heat.)
To make ends meet, I'm seriously trying to think of ways to "survive" until I find another job (if that's what it comes down to.) I'm toying with a few ideas….and these are serious ones….not in joke so please don't laugh but give me your honest opinions.
1) personal assistant to classroom moms - entails making cupcakes, cookies, picking up juice boxes and pizzas for special days in the classroom.
2) Memoir writer - there are a few of you and you know who you are…that need to write a book. I'm willing to co-author, edit, or whatever just to help you make it to the best sellers list.
3) Paint wall murals. I've done this on the walls for many clients but stopped after I was getting paid pennies for my works of art. I may just have to get back into it just for the pennies. If I make a bajillion pennies, at least it will be enough to put gas in my car.
4) Cooking classes for kids - I love to cook and Boo will tell you that if I couldn't cook, he wouldn't be with me! LOL (He's just kidding ;) According to Boo, every guy likes a woman who can cook so I thought I'd start early and have cooking classes for kids. I'd teach them the essentials until they work up to full menus.
5) Parent Educating - It's true. I'm a parenting guru or maybe a wanna be. But, seriously, I'm certified as a parent educator and I'm willing to sit down and do one on ones with those parents who could use some guidance, tips, tricks and just a hug to tell them that they are doing just fine.
6) Art classes for kids - I draw, I paint, I create, I make a mess. What's even better is to have a few little ones making a mess too and for me to get paid as they do it.
Those are some of the ideas I've come up with. If you had to choose a service, which would it be?

I think all of your ideas are fabulous. It's important to find what makes you happy and what brings in the money. If you don't like getting up in the morning for work, you will have a miserable life. I think it's far better to do what you love.
So, find what you love and do it. The rest will take care of itself.
I think any one of those or even a combination of some of those would be great. The assistant to the classroom mom sounds like a lot of fun and since you'll be cooking anyways you could do the cooking classes for kids too.
I truly hope you do not lose your job but you seemed very prepared if the worse was to happen. If I lived closer I would definitely sign up for your cooking classes.
I think all your ideas are viable and definitely productive.
I remember that Twilight Zone episode and feeling such despair while I was watching it. I'm praying that you'll get a breath of fresh air, a cool breeze to settle your mind and calm your spirit.
Justine :o )
Oh, to make it worse--I'm tagging you tomorrow. Sorry.
#s4 and 6 would work REALLY well over here. You'd have lots sign-ups and possibly even long waiting lists. Go for it!
It will take a couple of weeks to get going so check it out. It can be a good site, for you for extra money even if you don't lose your position. or you can be like me and sell AVoN on the side.
I am praying for you girlfriend..
BTW your email on your blog does not work, I cannot mail you your interview questions. Are you on FB? I could send them through there if you don't wish to give out your email..I think the one on my blog actually works, at least i hope it does...please let me know how to get to you with the questions..
Thanks
Angel
