Who are you?

A few years ago, my neighbor, Connie had a stroke. She was really bad off and her doctors released her to hospice care. She was a wonderful Hispanic lady who treated my daughters like her grandkids. She called them both Mija. She would sit by the window as they played outside and keep an eye on the neighborhood kids. One day, I came out and Connie was questioning a boy that had been playing with my daughters. "Who are you? Why are you here?" she asked him. She didn't give him a chance to answer when she burst out with, "Go home! You're playing too rough with them. Until you can play nice, don't come back!" I was shocked yet, smiling inside. She stuck up for her "honorary" granddaughters. After she passed away, there was a void. No longer did I have the comfort of her being close by. She was supposed to give me her recipe for tamales. Either way, she touched my life and my daughter's lives in many ways.

I have 77 followers and you know what? Most of you, have touched me too. I have visited your blog over and over..and you've visited mine. Some of you are lurkers and lurkers are allowed but I'd like to know you, even if you are a lurker.

So, my questions to you are:

1) Who are you? (where are you from, etc.)
2) What led you to my blog?
3) What keeps you coming back for more?

Thanks muchly for touching me!

My name is Tracy and I found your blog through Julies (47 starting over). It is fun to make new friends and I read your blog one day and now I'm hooked :-) I can't really say why but I like getting to know you :-) My blog is totally private now because I needed it more as a journal. But I hope I'm still welcome to your blog. Some people blog and some don't I guess? I am on twitter though CaliGirlTracy if you want to go there :-)

Hey. You know me, I'm not a lurker :-) I come back here because it feels like home, in an odd way. your blog is cozy and positive, and whatever you write about, will always be something I can relate to. So keep doing what you do, you do it well :-)

Somedays I'm a lurker, other days I'm a commentor. I think you found me first, but I like that we are blog pallies no matter who found who first.

I like your stories--they remind me of mine. Everyday simple joys or sorrows, laughs or frustrations--it's all good to read and share.

Hi,

I'm from California via Ohio, New Jersey and New York. But really, I'm an Ohio girl at heart.

I can't remember how I found you but I think it might have been via Lilly's Life. We seem to have many followers in common too.

I keep coming back because you are a terrific writer, a down to earth woman with a keen sense of humor and you often leave me pondering your posts for the rest of the day. Plus, really, I think you've nice and in this day and age "nice" is fabulous :-)

I'm glad I found your blog. And no, I never lurk, I always have something to say even if it's short.

Nice to meet you! I'll be back again soon.

Who am I? I think you know that better than I do. I swear, it's one of the things I love most about you. On the days I truly wonder what in the hell I am doing, you come along and leave me some insane comment about who I am and what my purpose is in life and I feel better. Thank you for those beautiful words. You always speak to my heart.

How did I find you? You and I have talked about this. We can't remember who found who. But I am sure glad we found each other.

What keeps me coming back? You. plain and simple. I adore you!

Who am I? Female, 23, Virgo, India. :)

I came across your blog several months ago through blogger. I became a follower of it then. This was probably at least 6 months ago! What drew me to read your blog was the down-to-earth ease with which you write, your unpretentious, simplicity and searching caught my attention and I found it hard to stop reading! (Of course that's no good for my job, since I happened to get hooked this morning before I started it..)

Just thought to say thanks for the blog! I know it takes time to blog but I really enjoy it!

I'm still young and I haven't experienced many of these things you blog about, and yet, as I'm stepping into 'the big world' and so many things scare me, I'm able to say 'If she made it through that, so can I', and it's a major encouragement! So.. thanks for that :)

I don't count because I'm not a lurker. And since I'm not a lurker, I gotta leave a comment! ;)

Wouldn't it be fun to have every lurker leave a comment?

Sorry to hear about your neighbor. I had an elderly next-door neighbor, too, that was so loving and caring. I miss her, too.

We have "common" friends that led us to each other and we happen to stop by once in a while and knock on each other's doors - that's why we're here :)

These are great questions, and a wonderful message. I'm glad to answer:

My name is Deidra, and I live in Nebraska now. Before that? Pennsylvania, Connecticut, North Carolina, Michigan, New York, New Jersey, Georgia, Virginia, Kentucky, and Germany. Whew!

I found your blog by clicking on a comment you left on someone else's blog (I can't remember which one, or what you said, but it must have intrigued me).

I keep coming back because you make me laugh, and your posts challenge me to look at life a different way. I look forward to seeing life through your eyes.

Thanks so much for asking.
