Soon to be 46 year old...seeking employment

There ya have it! The official word was, "I'm so very sorry, but we've decided that it was in the best interest (whose????) to downsize certain postions and yours was chosen (Yay for me!!!)

I didn't want to give him the benefit of seeing me shed tears but a few leaked out before I was out the door. I am the type of person that either loves my job or hates my job. I loved my job and the people I worked with. We were a family. My boss was THE greatest boss I've ever worked for.

I've got quite a few skills...but it all depends on whether there's a demand for those skills (no, humming old commercials won't qualify as a job skill).

Thanks for everyone's good wishes, prayers, concern, encouragement. It meant more to me than you'll ever know. I will hold my head up because I have friends like you all!

If any of you are in the Southern California area and have word on any job leads...please let me know!

PS -- You can expect me to still blog because something has to give with the creativity surges.

Crap, Simone. I'm sorry, pally--that's bad news.

There is no rhyme or reason it seems these days--it's just cleaning house and salaries left and right. It has been happening all around here too--but I will tell you that everyone I know out of work has found some recently, so hopefully it will be that way for you too.

Keep your chin up and start looking. Wish I was there to give you a big 'ol hug. I'm here for you when you need some support, my friend.

In the meantime--keep writing--it will help with the emotions of it all.

Oh no! Such bad news :( Hope you find something soon. Wish I could help. Just popped over to say thanks for visiting my little blog par-tay yesterday. But, now I'm all bummed and don't wanna talk about it

Big sigh! I am so very sorry. It makes me mad that the company dragged this out for so long and for all the stress it put on you-- then this. @#$%^&!
Like everyone said, chin up and all, but dang! When you want to yell and rant about it, call me- I'll kick and scream with you :-)
And if you are in Los Angeles interviewing (or bridal shopping?), let me know, I'll meet you for lunch and give you a pep talk!
Hang in there. xoxoxoxoxoxo

Rest assured that the universe unfolds in divine order--the loss of this job is only making way for something bigger and better and more suited to your natural talents. I'm sure of it!

Time between jobs is a gift, too--be sure to enjoy it, because you'll be wishing you had it when you're back working again.

Best of luck to you!

I'm very sure another door will open soon. Keep your chin up, Simone!!

Maybe you could try participating in paid surveys. They can't replace your daytime job but you can earn some pocket money from them.

Visit my other site - http://surveyscroll.blogspot.com if you're interested.

I'm thinking of you and sending you best wishes. I give you permission to have an entire pint of ice cream of your choice and a cocktail of your choice and feel absolutely no guilt over it! Hugs and hang in there. I hope the next path leads to bigger, better and happier moments for you!

I'm sorry to hear that the news wasn't good. I hope you will find something even better than the job you had, a place where you will make new friends that will feel like family too.

I cringed when I saw the title to this post. I know it wasn't totally unexpected but it's still a big kick in the gut. I'm very sorry. Sometimes change really sucks. Here's a HUG and a prayer...that's all I got, Friend.

Thank you all for your support. I really mean that. I really feel like somehow, this is the beginning of being able to follow my passions. I'm not sure how but I think the right job will fall right into place. In the meantime, I'm hoping to land some writing assignments among other things. I'll keep you all posted. But a million thanks to you all!!!!

So sorry this happened because you obviously enjoyed your job. However, when one door closes it leaves the space for something new and better. Hang in there and have faith.
