Creative Saturday

Last week, I started a new challenge for myself...I call it Creative Saturday. I've discovered that I'm most happiest when I'm creating...whether it's something baking in the oven or something I've painted or remodeled or built or composed...I'm just plain ol' content. So, every Saturday, as a way to step away for the norm, I'm going to make an attempt to use my God given creativity.

Today, I had good intentions of doing a few projects but after polishing the floor (yes, on hands and knees with grout sealer), I made Revel bars (thanks Dandy for the recipe). They turned out great and I know my chocolate lover in the house will be smiling for days when he comes home to discover them.

I can't remember if these are the ones with the peanut butter... If they are, I'll have to hold off making them until Z turns 3.

Not feeling too creative today, but I am thinking of making my yellow rice recipe, but will add raisins and green peas this time, instead of wild blueberries. And topping that with creamy basil chicken.

I love the idea of creative Saturday!

Football season has officially started (college) & Hubby is a fan, so I was thinking I'd start spending Sat. cooking some nice fall dinners. . .

Oh thank you for coming to visit me from Deidra...chocolate?? C.h.o.c.o.l.a.t.e?? Mmmmmm...and you polished your floor on your hands on knees?! Then you definitely deserve this chocolate treat you created!! Very creative for a Saturday I would say! I think I'm inspired!! :)

Yummy!!! My motto is if it is not chocolate it's just not worth the calories. Hubby and I roasted hot dogs after Church today then we acted like a couple messy youngens' and made smores'. They were worth the mess. Enjoy your dessert!!!

I have to be in the right frame of mind to begin to create or doing anything creative whether it's gardening, writing or even quilting. I am hoping to get to making some fall placemats and once I am done I will put them up for everyone to see.

Hey hun! Ive been trying to get myself cooking and creating as well ;-) I hemmed my jeans and grated them the other day, I've also started knitting a scarf, and Ive been cokking lentil soup and macaroni pie :-) I think I'll join you in your creative saturdays, it's my day off, so here I come ..

My Bucket List

My twin sis and I have bucket lists. The funny thing is that they aren't literally on paper. They are in our heads. For instance, my Nay Nay called me and said, "You won 't believe what I did!  I got big girl shoes…for my bucket list." "Really? Big girl shoes?" I asked. I knew exactly what she meant. When we were born, and back in the day when braces could or should be recommended for feet that in-toed, we weren't given that joy. As a result, walking in high heels can often be a challenge. My Nay Nay decided that she was going to cross off one thing on that bucket list and found a deal of 10 pairs of heels. (Not one but 10. She went for the gusto.) Each day, she practiced walking in her big girl shoes until the moment finally came and she ROCKED those heels! Together we have decided that we WILL cross off stuff on our growing bucket lists.
