Realizations

Have you ever had one of those days where left and right you're hitting "Aha" moments? This has been one of those days for me.

I realized after watching Deidra's mom laughing so hard to the point of tears over Pink Panther that this girl needs more laughter in the house. I'm going to fill every corner with opportunities to laugh every so often and if that doesn't work, then I'm sending laughter somewhere else.

I also realized that when people get older, they tend to be more focused on getting old and their ailments as they get older that they really forget to have a good time being silly. I wish I lived close to my parents in North Carolina....they'd be laughing all the time.

I also realized that I often ask my dogs questions and wait for them to respond. A few minutes ago I asked Humble, "Are you tired?" I swear he said that he was so I told him that he needed to lay down and rest. I know for a fact that I'd run if they really did talk.

There's also a profound realization that hit me...one that changes possible directions that Boo and I have been discussing. I don't want to move. I like where I live and the community where I'm at. Boo loves it too. The only thing missing is solid employment. I'm hoping and praying that something comes through because I really don't want to call anywhere else home but here.

Then, while at Sam's Club, I realized that the samples are seriously booming on Fridays. So, the next time, I won't bother eating breakfast before I go...I'll just fill up on samples courtesy of Sam's Club.

I also realized that when I wish for something, sometimes it come true when I least expect it. I was shopping at Target and saw a book that I wanted there. Being that I'm trying to save money, I went to the library to see if I could find it there instead. It wasn't in their catalog. I decided to browse around in their used books for sale section and found the book for 25 cents. That's the type of surprise that I love!

Speaking of surprises....sometimes, there are not so good ones too. Yesterday, when I got ready to climb into the shower, there was an almost 3 inch centipede waiting to eat me. He resembled the creature from the movie, Alien. He gave me this look that said, "Step one foot in the shower and you're dead meet." I called Boo the bug exterminator and wouldn't you know it, the dang creature hid. I was smart though. I took a picture of him just so Boo wouldn't think I was exaggerating. He told me that he was probably down the drain. The water ran for a good five minutes before he convinced me that he wasn't coming back. As I showered, I felt like I was in the movie, Psycho, waiting for the psychotic centipede to appear. All of a sudden his face came out from the stopper and I jumped out of the shower yelling, "He's back! He's back!" Boo took him outside but there was no convincing me that he was gone for good.

I love realizing something out of the blue. It rocks my world.

Sweetie, let me know if those doggies start answering. Your shower story is too funny. How come if a man doesn't see or hear it first hand it didn't happen. Like when the car makes a funny noise, nope doesn't mean a thing till it happen to him. Maybe the big bad centipede will invade Boo's shower and snack on his toes! Hahaha!

Have the best weekend, girl!!! :o)

Wow, you've had quite a day! I hate bugs in the shower, ewww!!!!

Never enough laughter and I love that you talk to your dogs.

Yes, those samples at the warehouse grocery stores could easily fill you up as much as breakfast, just skip the orange juice Lol!

Our house in PA had those darn centipedes. They looked like little monsters. Yuck! The sight of one of those things just set my whole day off in the wrong direction.

I'm glad my mom's laughter brightened your day! She is a hoot, for sure!

Simone,

Yikes, I would have a hard time having anyone convince me that said creature wasn't really gone either. Something is just creepy about drains and showers.

Hope you have a relaxing weekend, and God comes through with a great stable job for you.

Love and Hugs ~ Kat

That centipede would have freaked me out, too!

When I was a little girl, we used to have dogs, too and I also used to talk to them. I swear, they are the best listeners. :)

I hope you will accept me saying this as a compliment - You have the sweetest personality, and a way of looking at things with such an innocent quality. I can't help but smile.

I have a centipede story. When I was about a year old, my mom sees me (trying) to chew. She opens my mouth, and to her surprise, is a hairy centipede!

I don't just talk to my animals (of which I own 7), I sometimes talk to inanimate objects - particularly when I'm cleaning. And, of course animals answer back!

I'm glad you had the AHA! moment about moving because, just through reading your posts, I knew you didn't want to do it. Pray about this. Things will work out as they should.

Happy Saturday!

I'm glad you've realized you should try to stay where you're living. It worried me when you said you were going to uproot, especially since you were uncomfortable with it.

I'm glad the bug was taken outside. ICK!
