Used Book Giveaway

Welcome to the second month of my used book giveaway. In keeping with my goal to read two books a month, I've decided to give away two books as well. The books are used and I try my best not to spill spaghetti sauce on the pages or smudge them but if they are smudged, my apologies. (The books are in a non-smoking house....for anyone that wants to know.)

The first two books are books that weren't chosen from the last give away.

Please go to the link here to read their descriptions.

The first book is The Help by Kathryn Stockett. In my opinion I would definitely give it five stars out of 5. It kept me reading from the front of the cover to the very end of the book.

The next book is Suddenly by Barbara Delinsky. I like almost all of Barbara Delinsky's books but I really found the characters and the realness of this book, charming and heartwarming.

Remember, for a synopsis of the above books, please go to the previous used book give away post here.

I just finished this one....The Dim Sum of All Things by Kim Wong Keltner.

It was funny, touching and a wonderful look into the Chinese culture from a Chinese American female's POV. Here is a review:

25 year-old Lindsey Owyang is a third generation ABC (American Born Chinese) woman living in San Francisco. While working at Vegan Warrior magazine, Lindsey battles to keep a dark secret that could get her fired: she is a meat eater. She also has a terrible crush on a co-worker who doesn't seem to know she exists. An underpaid receptionist, Lindsey lives with her grandmother Pau Pau, who spends all her time gambling at the mah jongg dens, applying noxious smelling Chinese ointments and setting up Lindsey with one nightmarish date after another. When Lindsey's not avoiding her embarrassing family or various Hoarders of All Things Asian (men who are obsessed with Asian women for all the wrong reasons), she spends her time wondering about her family's past and her own, murky future. When Lindsey gets to travel to China with Pau Pau, she gains insight into Pau Pau's early life, as well as that of her family, giving her a greater appreciation of her ancestry and her formidable grandmother.

My last book is a non-fiction called Fearless Loving by Rhonda Britten.

This book spoke volumes to me about love without it being a cliche'. It touched on loving fearlessly and not doubting who you are at the same time. I have kept it for a few years with the intent on reading it over again because I enjoyed it that much but I would rather share it with someone else. Rhonda Britten was one of the life coaches on the show Starting Over. It was a reality show that helped people who struggled with getting back on track in their lives.

I would love to read The Help. I was intrigued by it when you posted about it last month, and since then I've seen a few other blogs reference it. Thanks for doing this again!

YAY! I'm a follower. Any of the books sound interesting to me.

Also if you could, email me at simedanica@yahoo.com. My friend would like someone to host a give away for her since she recently started a new Tastefully Simple business. She's looking for someone who has a lot of followers. Let me know if you're interested.
