21 Years Ago, My Life Was Changed
by this precious bundle of pure cuteness.
The moment you were placed in my arms, all 6 pounds, I knew my life would never be the same and I was so right!
You have taught me so much about life, love and courage. You were tenacious in spite of some tough challenges you faced as a little one. I remember when you were 3 months old and the doctor put your leg in a cast to help straighten it out. You still learned to turn over and even crawl a few months later. I still remember how you cried each time the cast was removed and a new one was put on. My eyes filled with tears right along with you.
You never allowed fear to stop you from doing anything. I remember the many times you ducked under the water in the bathtub. You never came up sputtering. You would laugh and do it again. Even to this day, I have no idea how you learned to swim. You just did. You jumped in and away you went.
I have adored your heart for people and animals. You never want anyone to hurt. I have wonderful memories of you constantly holding services for roly polys and any other bugs that suffered the fate of death. You wanted them to know that they mattered to you.
Even when I was really sick and ended up in the hospital, you didn't want me to hurt and be cold so you snuck and gave me a blanket. You were willing to take the wrath just to make sure I was no longer shivering.
I love how you have my sense of humor. I know that I can say just about anything and that you will laugh right along with me because you get me. You really do.
More than anything I cherish your maturity in making some tough decisions. I know that without a doubt, your prince charming is out there and he will cherish and love you the way your family and friends love you. Although, just say the word and I can fix you up with a few of my blogging friends sons.
Thank you for being my hero...for reminding me to soar even when I didn't feel like soaring. Thank you for embracing me not only as your mommy but also as your friend. I hope that you know that I cherish your friendship as much as I cherish you as my daughter.
Enjoy the beginning of a new journey and adventure. There's some cool stuff in store..I just know it. (You're not allowed to bungee jump...that's an order!) I love you my sweet baby girl! Happy 21st birthday!

Happy Birthday Jarani!!
I love all the pictures - especially how you ended, with your daughter standing on the God's beautiful ocean (?), looking very lovely and confident. She's so young and has SO much life ahead of her.
Happy Birthday!

Have a super wonderful birthday, and please you guys stay out of trouble. I don't think I can come and bail you out if you get into any mischief.
Please pass along my birthday blessings to your beautiful daughter.
