Things I've Learned Thursday

The week is flying by quickly and I'm sure not complaining. I'm ready for the weekend!

1) When my twin sis and I were little, certain things had huge gross out factor. So, when I went fishing this past Memorial day and came upon this sight below, I knew that the kid in me still lives. Ewwwww. (It's just mud but it looks gross!)

2) It's better to kill with kindness and an apology, even if you feel you aren't the one in the wrong.

3) My adversities are God's universities. (So hard to accept but so very true.)

4) There's some new additions to our household...they have eight legs (or is it six) and hop. They are hopping spiders. Apparently, Charlotte the spider had babies somewhere and they are forever jumping on me. I'm not amused. In fact, I've given Charlotte and her kids an eviction notice.

5) My puppies Sam and Selah have the ability to be totally cozy on their beds but this is how they choose to sleep.

6) I hate when a celebrity or someone "famous" dies because that means that there are usually two or three more to follow.

7) There is a reason that Chutes and Ladders is recommended for 4 year olds on up. This was the longest marathon game ever played. (Thanks to Baby Boo not knowing the concept of counting, sliding and winning.)

8) I'm so excited about starting the Creative Bootcamp online. The best thing about it is that it's free! You can choose any medium your heart desires. It's two weeks of creating. Check it out here.

9) If you rub fabric softener sheets on your dog's fur, it will get rid of the static electricity and make him/her smell like nicely scented toes.

10) This is what I call peace.

What have you learned?

What have I learned this week? That halter top straps still make my neck hurt. LOL... That having the kids at home during the summer still makes me more unproductive. Even with them being a year older their ability to disrupt one's schedule and plans has not changed... Uh, I don't think that was the point of the question. Everything I "learned" is negative. :-) LOL...

I've noticed that about celebrity deaths as well. It's just the oddest thing.

I really, really love #3.

Great list!
I've learned I cannot work an 11 year shift. Thank goodness tomorrow is the last day.

I've learned that Candyland is wayyyy worse than Chutes and Ladders. You really need to stack the deck before you play that game. Ugh.

What is with those dogs?? ARe they too warm??

I've learned that it's a heck of a lot easier to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission when you want to do something you probably shouldn't ;)

I've got Chutes and Ladders in my closet for when the diva gets older. Good to know that I made that wise choice! :)

Spiders --- ewww! I don't know what's worse, finding those or seeing a cockroach in my house nearly every day for a week now! Dang these hot summer months here and the bugs they bring in!

I've learned to just tell people up front, "hey my kid doesn't like many people. don't take it personal! She's just like her daddy!" LOL.

Gorgeous last photo!

I've learned that if you are on a committee and you miss a meeting-- you get voted Chairman.

I loved this post.

I totally agree about Chutes and Ladders. Sometimes my kids and I will sing, "this is the game that never ends...it goes on and on my friends..."--especially when we hit that top row where there are slides every other spaces.

Yucky spiders. I do not care much for bugs.

Number 3 was one I needed to hear. Especially this morning.

Thank you for your sweet comments on my blog. Your comments always make me smile. I appreciate you!

Rachel

Hi Sweetie...
I so adore this post. What a wonderful share and I am definitely going to check out the creative bootcamp you shared. I can't imagine creating for free.

Now that #4 is a definite eviction notice. Ewww...I DO NOT like spiders and sorry Charolette. Hers were friendly and in the barn, but for me inside...NO WAY.

Candyland with my youngest grandkids, we make our own rules, they spin and spin, and slide and climb the ladders. They are happy so I am thrilled.

Thanks for stopping by and checking on me sweetie. I was so tickled to hear from you. I just had to pop over for a quickie hi. Hope you have a beautiful weekend. Country hugs and much love, Sherry

Done with my exams and my kids are visiting my brother and sister.... I know I am wandering now without aim LOL.
I love your lessons.. I need to re-read Charlotte's web. Love that book.
PS: My sister did not have kids. She was married for 7 yrs but never tried hard to have kids at all. I agree with you that was one of the reasons for the freedom of making her own decision.

This was a joy to read. God has really been having me work on #2 lately and it isn't easy. I totally agree with #10. I live near the ocean and I love it. Baby Boo is an absolute doll!

I am off to check out the Creativity Boot Camp. Thanks for sharing the link!

EEEWWWW!! Do you remember when something had the ew factor we would find a way to get rid of it? Sometimes when I'b=m cutting up chicken, there is a skin on the drumstick that is usally bright yellow and thicker than the usual skin. That is a definite ew factor for me. Of course, need I say more? Wet hair, the kind that tangles around your fingers. EEEWW! I need to grab a pack of Rolaids.
