We Interrupt This Moment...
There's too much going on in my life right now that I can't talk about BUT....I failed to do my once a year birthday post to my twin sister.
Our birthday was on July 24th and I was in Portland with Single Boo...getting things squared away for our relocation. (This is TOTALLY another blog post...promise.)
I can't even sum up what it means to be a twin. Ever since I can remember, I've had people ask, "How does it feel to be a twin?" and I would say, "It feels normal." It does. I don't know of anything else than knowing that she is there for me and has been there for me since we were wombmates. She kicked me out of the hatch first to let her know if it was worth her appearing. I let her know that it was...and our entrance began....two months early.
Being a twin means that nothing is ever stupid that you say or think because no matter what, your twin will agree with you or support your ideas and decisions.
Being a twin means no longer being amazed when we say something at the same time or sit the exact same way or crave the same exact food at the same time.
Being a twin means that you will always have someone to run to when you are afraid of what lies ahead.
Being a twin means laughing until tears are sliding down our faces over something that only her and I truly get.
Being a twin means watching Little Rascals over and over again and never getting tired of the same episodes.
Being a twin means that dressing alike isn't anything embarrassing, it's just a way of saying, "I'm proud I look just like you."
Being a twin means never minding sharing birthdays and celebrations on the same day. In fact, there's no other way I'd choose to celebrate than to celebrate it with her.
Being a twin means that words will sometimes fail but we will always know what each other is thinking or feeling.
Being a twin means looking forward to outrageous adventures, shared together without the fear of being viewed as ridiculous as strange because she gets me!
Happy Birthday to the best friend ever who totally has been better than a puppy or a kitten when we were growing up.
I believe that our dreams will one day come true...don't ever let go of them because I won't either.
Happy 47th birthday! I love you!

Best wishes to you! A new chapter awaits you and you're in control of the manuscript! I can't wait to read it! :-)
Hope Portland was good-- It's a gorgeous town. (godson's mom is from there and it also used to be part of my sales territory.) I know you hate having your baby far away but it's a great city and I hope Boo is very happy there.
Love your post about your sister. You two have such a special bond.

And thanks also for posting that beatiful rendition of Amazing Grace sung by that sweet girl below. Incredible.
Happy birthday to you both. I'm sending two hugs. :)
Angie,
Each set of my twins are not particularly close so I read this post with high hopes that my kids will cherish their twin relationships once they're older and can truly appreciate how special it is to be a twin!
Happy birthday to you and your twin!
