Grown Up Christmas List

Celebrating the holidays just isn't for the kids, although I think my brother in law makes the greatest santa of all. The picture below is of him riding in the city of Compton's annual Christmas parade. There's nothing like being the most awaited and popular guy in the whole parade!

Not only that but a few weeks ago, he was at the tree lighting, sitting patiently as each child gave him their Christmas wish. It hit me...I've been asking the wrong guy for stuff! :) My sister has the hook up on getting every thing her heart desires!

Even more precious is Single Boo's friend's daughter who is already making her "grown up" Christmas list at 3 years old.

But, if I had a chance to make my wishes known to Santa....here is my Grown Up Christmas list....

1) A sexy, sweet, honest, faithful Christian man who gets me and I can look forward to spending the rest of my life with.

2) An impromptu snowball fight

3) heat controlled, warm, fluffy pajamas

4) lifetime poop scooping service

5) my own private jet to visit my sister whenever I want

6) a Baby Grand piano, shiny and black

7) my very own vineyard

8) an endless supply of Orville Redenbacher's Poppycock (without any calories that stick)

9) a new wardrobe

10) Each year, when my grandmother was asked what she wanted for Christmas, she'd say, "My life, health and strength." I never understood how she could ask for "just" that. But, now that I'm older, I understand. I too want life and to live it joyfully, health, both emotional and physical health and strength to persevere even when I feel like I'm hitting a wall.

What is on your grown up Christmas list?

Now that's a great list! I like #3 and could use it myself.
My #1 wish is having all the family together. My son will be home for Christmas and I'm so looking forward to that. He will be deployed to Afghanistan in February so time together is a blessing!

I think the child was tired but she made me laugh!

I like your list, especially the heated pjs! What is on my list is health, peace & quiet!

Merry Christmas!

Oh Simone, that sweet little girl is darling-- and has good taste in jewelry :-)

I love the idea of "heat controlled, warm, fluffy pajamas". That would be paradise.

And just to remind you-- When I least expected it my now husband appeared, so you just never know when Mr. Right will walk into your life.

I hope Santa is good to you this year. Merry Christmas, xo jj

First: the kid needed a nap. A long, 24 hour, nap.

Second: I wasn't looking when Joe showed up in my office door at work. SURPRISE!

Third: health and strength...When you're healthy, both mind and body, you don't need strength. But when the mind and body goes. YOWZA! Do you need strength! So your grandma was planning ahead!

Fourth: I think what we could all use, would be the chance to go back in time and fix things.

I'd be right there cryin' with the little gal at the jewelry case. My ring still has a big old hole in it...it needs mending!

I adored your list. Heated 'jammies..sound nice and cozy.

God bless ya and have a great day sweetie!!!

Aww, great list. #1 would be having my family all live closer to one another. I had that growing up, but folks have spread themselves around the country now. =(

I like your #1 so I's steal that for my list too. I would also add an iPod, iPad and iPad speakers.

Your list is SO freaking good I can't even stand it. Number 1 would be fabulous! And the pajamas...they sound pretty great too. Maybe even better than number one. Maybe : )

What a great list!

For me I think I would like to have a baby. I know it's not possible, but if God could fix me in the next life I'd be happy. :-)

Have you ever heard Amy Grant sing the song, "Grownup Christmas List"? The words are my list every year. I even made a Christmas card out of it one year:

"No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end, oh
This is my grown up christmas list"

Merry Christmas, Simone! xo

Weekly housekeeping service, a full time living wage job for the hubby, an awesome apartment in Spring Valley, and a pair of flannel pjs.

Great list! I hope you can start crossing them off soon!

I don't know what I wish for this year.... other than a sibling for Vivian. Everything else has been a dream come true lately so I am being humble this year! :-)

Thanks for everything by the way! Merry Christmas to you!

Food without calories. Yeah that would be on my list and a winning lottery ticket add that please. Something that would pay off my mortgage and kids college and add a few vacations please.

Good luck with your list!

#8 - Change that to Miss Vickie's Kettle Cooked Chips --any flavor!

Here's hoping you get most (if not all!) of what you want on your list. =)

Have a very blessed Christmas, Simone!

Great list. Number ten is perfect, isn't it?

Simone, you have been a blessing to me this year. Knowing you is one of the greatest gifts there is!

Don't you want to add something on there that is just spur of the moment and totally ridiculous like diamond earrings or something? I'd like a baby goat that hops around all silly-like. :)

Merry Christmas, pally! I hope it is a good one. :)
