Things I've Learned Thursday

Don't forget to enter the used book giveaway hereThe giveaway ends on Friday.

Now, on to Things I've Learned Thursday

1) I'm so glad that my new neighbors are playing music at full volume that is tolerable. They are from Hawaii so I feel like I'm there, listening to the waves splashing across the sand.

2) Arizona is pathetic if they think that racial profiling is okay! Enough already! Stop the discrimination. Okay....breathe...breathe...I'm okay.

3) My pit bull sheds enough to make a whole 'nother puppy.

4) Elephants and creditors never forget.

5) My weight gain this week is totally dedicated to my daughter Apricot-tea aka Married Boo. Thanks for the yummy vegan cornbread recipe but did it have to taste SO good????

6) Boo is now a true rancher. He's just started his own worm farm so that he will have endless worms for fishing. You would think he was plotting and tilling the soil for a 200 acre farm. He is one proud farmer and the worms haven't even arrived yet!

7) When it comes to gizmos, Boo is happiest when he's attempting to fix something, make something, or construct something. My job comes in as the cheerleader. I've learned to say the following, "Wow! You really did a great job trimming those hedges. Even in the hot sun, it's impressive."

8) After cleaning out my closet, I almost felt like there was an echo there. But, I made a promise to myself that I would not get down in the dumps over the clothes that I couldn't fit but to get happy at the fact that I was going to buy some clothes that I truly would feel good wearing.

9) Hormones are messing with me. I got sappy watching the TVLand Awards where Cheryl Ladd and Jacquelin Smith accepted the award and dedicated to Farrah Fawcett. I was reaching for a kleenex. Finally, I turned the channel. I just couldn't take it!

10) I'm so thankful to Mari for suggesting online billpay. That has been a huge relief and blessing for me. (Thanks!)

What have you learned?

Love your "Things I've Learned Thursday"...is it a meme? I think I need to join in. And I love your sense of humor. It's a fave of mine.

I had to laugh out loud when I read the one about music. I agree, if it's waves, then it could be tolerable!

Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog. I appreciate your words of encouragement.

Blessings,
~Rachel

Music from Hawaii - I'd like to hear some today!
I think my cat is in the same boat as your dog with the shedding.
Glad you are enjoying online bill pay. It really does make things easy.

At least Bo doesn't have to vaccinate, castrate and dehorn those worms!!! I spent yesterday in the wornin' pen helping Hubby work 57 head of 500-650 pound cattle. Oh baby I've learned how sore I can get. Oh well....off to mow my acre of lawn! Heeehehehe! No need to join a gym...I've got the Ponderosa. :o)

You have yourself a terrific Thursday!!!

Hawaiian music is so delightful. Maybe they will invite you over for one of their delicious feasts!! Very kind people!

I am chuckling over your cheerleader role. I take the same persona whenever Ron does A N Y T H I N G! Wow! Thanks for making the bed, dragging the trash to the end of the drivewway, putting down the seat, ...... gets old though.... xoxo

I didn't know you had a pit. They scare me!

I've been using online billpay for years now and wonder how I ever survived without it.

Always look forward to your Thursday lists!

I learned to be patient when I wanted to kick my cat for leaving a trail of poop around my dining room table yesterday! I learned that a gall bladder test isn't so bad and you can even get some rest during it. I learned that my two year old is my current biggest cheerleader, as she has been saying, "Yay! You did it" every time I go potty along with her! :)

I learned the same thing with you and #2 and that I need more sleep. Don't know where I'm getting it though.
Enjoy the tunes.

I totally need to listen to some relaxing music of waves crashing on the beach. I actually took a short video of the beach last time I was in Hawaii (4 years ago)...I should find it and watch it again.

We have a ton of worms in our garden...I never even thought to use them for fishing. I'm sitting here thinking that the worms can't breathe under water so I can't use them to fish with but they're meant to be fish food anyway...chances are they weren't gonna survive anyway.

Cheerleader is one of our most important jobs.

Let us know how the worms turn out!

I love that you are going to get some clothes you feel good in! I have to do that next week too! I need some nice things. The sweater I wore today has holes in the armpits. It looks awful! I must remedy that :)

LOVE that kind of farming. So cute.

LOL-I love number 4! My husband likes for me to be his cheerleader too, everytime he does something. If he mows the lawn, and I don't say something about it, he'll ask me if I think he did a good job ;-)

Hi Simone, what's up with Arizona? we are getting that on our news here in Canada, terrible! Yes, cleaning out our closets can be rewarding too, it's not just about the cloths that don't fit anymore is it. And oh, I get teary eyed over Farrah too, I watched her documentary of her journey to Germany for treatment and I just cried when I heard she had passed. Tragic.

I ran right over to your daughter's blog looking for the recipe for her vegan cornbread. I know someone who I think would love to have the recipe. Alas, it was not there...Girl, I did the same thing with my clothes closet. It's true that we have to fit the body we have rather than the one we had, or wish we had. I bought new clothes and at least I can breathe in them. I want to lose some weight, but until I do at least I have clothes that fit me.

My wanna-be Elvis Presley neighbour is karaokeing again and I'm NOT glad.

It's the ultimate Japanese torture. I wish he'd put on some Hawaiian music instead!

Great list as always, Simone.

Oooh, I loved Charlie's Angels!

I've learned that I LOVE to "create" with Adobe Illustrator, even though it takes me hours just to make one simple graphic! :)

Let's just all GO to Hawaii!!!

I cry every week when I watch Biggest Loser. Not a dignified cry. A full-blown sobby, weepy mess.

Bill pay rocks!

Happy Friday!

Where have you been to not have online bill pay! That is God's blessing to every mom and busy woman!

I especially love #7 because this is something that that I have to learn to do with Hubs. Be a cheerleader. I really have to try harder at this.

I'm with you on my state thing. Not sure what they think the new law will accomplish. I told my husband that all it will do, is allow those officers that already have a bias, to just use it freely now. Terrible.
