Things I've Learned Thursday

1) Ants are exhibitionists or either that, they've decided that hanging out around the toilet seat is like hanging out at a 5 star pool and spa. (Have you ever had your tush bitten by an ant?)

2) My Bil is one of a kind. On a business trip to Boston, being the Lakers fan that he is, he chose to step off the plane in his Lakers gear. Thank God my sis has a life insurance policy for him....just in case.

3) I love to color and I do need a job but to apply for a job as a colorer for adult comics, I think not!

4) When applying for a job, the last question asked was, "What are two things you would like to do before you die?" I was totally stumped. I didn't know whether to be trivial and say, "A one pound box of See's candy and all I can eat crab legs" or "An African Safari and an Alaskan cruise." I was speechless.

5) I hate when parents leave their babies unattended in shopping carts. I have seen so many of them wide open to be kidnapped or a few ready to fall head first out of the cart. It makes me so angry!

6) My dog Humble has a sense of humor. He is a clown at heart. He woke up this morning and instead of sitting which is the command he follows, while I give him his vitamin, he decided to flash me while laying on his back. I swear, I heard him laugh. Finally, he decides that the joke was no longer funny and sat. I put the vitamin in his mouth and he swallowed it. Five seconds later, he coughs it back out of his mouth. He proceeded to sit there and smile at me. If he continues, I may decide to search for an agent. He may be my money maker.

7) I need to check hot dog packages more carefully. Boo does NOT eat pork at all. Yet, I discovered that I had accidentally bought hot dogs that were made with turkey, pork and beef. He has been eating them until today, when he read the package. I felt awful. He was okay and said, "That's why it's a good thing we always bless our food before we eat!" :)

8) Some of my favorite movies I've watched lately have been with subtitles.

9) I wish I had enough space to farm...and I'm not talking Farmville. I'm talking, real deal! I love gardening and miss the large garden I used to have.

10) There's only 17 more days until my grandfather turns 100. (And 23 more days until I hit 47).

What have you learned?

Your BIL sounds like a hoot! I'm thinking the coloring job sounds like a good thing! I hate seeing babies in cart on their own too; it really is dangerous.
How neat that your Grandpa is about to turn 100.

Happy almost 100 to you Grandfather! How exciting.

And that job application question-- Once I was asked "Do like bow ties?" Seriously, that was the question. I finally decided on "yes" because I like a guy in a formal tuxedo.

Happy Thursday,
xo jj

Oh, wow - stepping off a plane in Boston wearing full Lakers gear is like rubbing the Celtics' loss in their faces. Brave guy! :)

Happy 100th to your grandpa... and happy birthday to you, too!! May you have the best one yet! :)

I have to carefully read the ingredients on hot dogs too (and sausage, lunchmeat, ravioli...anything with meat) because Princess has a food sensitivity to poultry. Actually, we think it's the hormones and other chemicals used in raising them, but she gets a heavy feeling in her chest and gets sick every time she eats poultry. Organic is safe, but by now she's too afraid to eat it.

I've learned that the older the kids get the more I want to lay hands on them. :-) I've learned that my negative attitude about moving to Arizona in January is starting to wear off on the kids and I need to adjust my attitude towards moving for their sake. I loved reading your list.

I've learned that when you order at Cracker Barrel you need to be VERY specific - when you order the COUNTRY FRIED BREAKFAST, with the meat choice either COUNTRY FRIED CHICKEN or COUNTRY FRIED STEAK, and you say STEAK, you're not getting COUNTRY FRIED steak - you're getting a miniature broiled sirloin that costs $2 more than what you ordered. And when you order the catfish meal and it says COMES WITH FRIES AND COLESLAW and you ask if you can substitute MASHED POTATOES for the FRIES, they're gonna bring you out a humongous plate of catfish and potatoes but no slaw. Then when you ask for your slaw, the sweet little waitress is gonna say, "Oh, did you want some slaw?" and then adds $2.29 to your bill!

Have you seriously been bitten on the tush by an ant?

Happy early birthday to your grandfather! And you too!

There are so many things to commment on it this post : ) I love that your dog smiles at you! I think it would be awesome if you could get a job coloring : ) How fun would that be. Non pork eaters stress me out a little. Naji is supposed to not have pork but he LOVES bacon. He says 'it's turkey bacon, right?' and I say 'no, sorry honey, you can't have that.' and then he just steals it off the counter and eats it anyway. I feel so worried that I am offending his religion!
