Things I've Learned Thursday - Even though it's Friday

1) Having a kitten and two dogs in the house is the greatest cheap entertainment. I have one that thinks that the kitty is her long lost baby and the other that thinks that the kitty is his long lost squeak toy.

2) There was a reason my mom used to tell me to "look with my eyes" and "don't touch". Yes, the loud loud sound of something being dropped at the store was me.

3) The next time I decide to eat a green chile bagel, I need to examine why the bagel has lots and lots of green. I can't believe I ate a moldy bagel without realizing it until it was all gone. (I feel sick just thinking about it.)

4) Being unemployed has had me more emotional than I've ever been. I hung up the phone after talking to a magazine representative that is outsourced in India. Not only could I not understand a word he was saying, he couldn't understand a word I was saying. He just kept repeating the script in front of him. There are too many Americans in need of a job and the biggest of companies are outsourcing instead! *stepping down off of my soap box

5) All's well that ends well. I was rejoicing with everyone as the Chilean miners were brought up to safety. After reading this though, I'm so glad that they were all men. Can you imagine what it would've been like to have that many women in a small space?

6) I love fall but a part of me feels like it's for a selfish reason....caramel apples. I give myself the joy of them twice during the fall and after that, I refuse to make them again because I'm a sucker for caramel and will eat it from a bowl.

7) There are speetles in Oregon. These bugs are definitely a mixture between a spider and a beetle. It's like there was this huge bug ball and all the bugs had one huge orgy and well...the rest is history.

8) My desire to eat a piece of cake sure changes after someone finds a long strand of hair in the frosting and announces it. To the person that baked the cake, "You meant well but seriously, use a hair net the next time."

9) Costco gives out the best samples on Saturdays. The next time I go, I'll be sure not to eat breakfast beforehand.

10) When a subway train honks at me, it's not because he's saying hi. I'm too close to the tracks.

What have you learned?

Oh my - I think you've been educated a bit much this week!
1) Animals can be so entertaining!
2) I used to hear that from my Mom, and still don't follow it well.
3) I'm now feeling sick along with you!
4) I find this frustrating and I have a job. Can't imagine how it makes you feel.
5) I can't imagine being down there. I'm so glad they are all safely out.
6) I had a caramel apple today, and like you could eat the caramel plain!
7) Yuck!
8) Yuck again!
9) Gotta love those samples. :)
10) Be careful - we love you!

Oy! Tough lessons this week, huh? I once ate a HUGE stack of french toast loaded with syrup, only to find on the last two bites, bottom slice, it was furry with mold.

Yah. I think I'll go throw up now. Again.

Ya can always count on animal entertainment and it's so very cheap!

I can't believe ya ate the whole thing without noticing the mold at the end. Ewwwwww, I feelin' a bit ill for you.

I've learned that I can no longer eat caramel apples since my caps. Nope, never again! 'Nuff said!!!

Ya'll have a magnificently blessed weekend!!!

Don't worry about the moldy bagel--just think of it as penicillin the hard way. ;)

Ewww, on those big spider bug balls! I can't stop thinking about that now! That, and those caramel apples you spoke about! :)

I have learned that working hard and sticking to a project can pay off.... I'm still on a roll with my book and I'm loving it!

That man eats anything :) LOVE him!

Sorry you are feeling so emotional. I pray for you. I pray that you find a perfect job soon and it makes you very happy!

Your kitten is the cutest thing. OH MY HEART! Cute. Cute. Cute!

Our pets bring us so much love and entertainment. I think we have all said that to our children about touching items. Sorry about the bagle, eww! I agree on the jobs that are needed here and it's okay to get on the soapbox! The miner story was amazing. I always tell people if you find hair it's clean hair. Eww on the bugs. This was fun, thanks for sharing.

I was sad when one of the miners arrived above ground and his mistress met him and kissed him. The wife decided to disappear. Which shows that there are many kinds of stress.

I sent my daughter to school once, after making her toast. Then I saw all the white hairy mold in the bread...I still shiver.

Joe and I were at a restaurant eating sausage gravy on biscuits. First hair...in gravy. I start rooting through it with my fork...second hair, baked INTO a biscuit. I'll never eat there again. I'd rather find a fly in my food than a hair.

I have a habit of smelling things that I pick up. Mom used to say I'd smell dog poop if I picked it up....She exaggerates. (it smells like cat poop in case you're wondering.) lol

Love the photo of the dog and the kitty. The dog looks like my beloved "Kramer" (who passed in April). The photo makes me miss him so much tonight.

I'm thinkin' every time I sit down to eat I need to imagine a hair in the food - that would perhaps help me shed some of my unwanted poundage.

Cheap entertainment indeed! =) I love watching puppies pretend to be fierce or chase around after their cute little puppy tails!
