Things I've Learned Thursday

1) Threatening a kid with "If you aren't good, then Santa isn't going to bring you any toys" no longer works.

2) Waving a tampon in my face and saying, "I'll be back, I have to go to the bathroom" when filling out a job application is not a way to make a good first impression.

3) Since moving to Oregon, I've fallen off the wagon as far as washing my car. Why wash it when it will rain five minutes after it's clean?

4) Kittens are under the impression that Christmas trees are their ultimate play toy. Climbing up and through the tree while knocking down every ornament makes for more fun.l

5) Cats know how to ignore the word "no".

6) Some people were never taught to play nice on the playground. Ultimately, they are now obnoxious, rude and bossy adults.

7) As I get older, I get more persnickety about writing with smooth ink pens, buying only certain brands of salad dressing and eating only crunchy apples with stripes.

8) Before I announce that it's "pouring outside", I should check to make sure I've turned off the bathroom faucet.

9) The greatest gift we can give to others is ourselves.

10) Ever since I mentioned the song 18 Cents in my last blog post, it's stuck in my head so here it is....

What have you learned?

Seriously on the tampon waving? Oh my gosh, that is hilarious but so unprofessional! Sounds like a drama queen in the making....hope she isn't hired!

I've learned that even when you don't think you're newsworthy, some one else might think you are! :_)

Oh, I'm totally with you on the pens. I get so annoyed when I have to use a regular Bic, which is rare now since I always bring my own pens with me wherever I go.

I used to also carry around my own fork, my "fork with the rose on it," in case I was eating in a restaurant and didn't like their fork. Now that's mental! So maybe I'm getting a little better in the pickiness department. That's what I learned today!

These are good ones. I learned that a dog can be easier when it comes to a Christmas tree. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas. God bless you and yours.

The tampon wavin' event might surly beat the alternative!!! Heeehehe! Miss interviewee might of wanted to take care of business...before the interview! :o)

I have learned I'm not gonna put Eighteen Cents on my Pandora Christmas list! Heeehehe!

I'm so with ya'll about good pens. I'm a lefty and if they glop and smear they go in the trash baby!!!

Ya'll have a terrifically blessed day!!! :o)

My kitty used to drive me crazy every Christmas for the last 16 years. Now that he's gone... I miss all that craziness!

Tampon waver....ewww... It made me wonder if there were men present. It seems the younger generation does not have modesty in the personal hygiene arena.

My car gets washed every time I have to take it for service so you can imagine it does not get washed too often. And now that it is freezing, bitter cold outside, I hardly wash it because the doors would freeze shut. :(

PS on the dog treats. The recipe makes a LOT of dog treats if you want it please email me... I can scan it to you my email is

The older I get the more set in the brands I prefer and pens are definitely one of them. If they aren't just right, I go on the hunt for the correct one.

And I can just imagine kittens in a Christmas tree- Yikes :-)

Merry Christmas, jj

LOL @ the tampon lady! Wow!
#6 is oh so true. That book about learning everything essential in kindergarten is spot on in so many ways.

#1 - It still works in my godchildren's house. Santa actually bypassed their house last Christmas! (Yes, my friends are firm believers in tough love.)

#7 - I think we've earned certain privileges as we get older. :)

I can picture the women with the tampon, returning to your desk and waving the "evidence" while exclaiming "Whew! Made it in the nick of time!"

Cats are holy terrors when it comes to Christmas trees! I've got two myself.

I hope you have a wonderful holiday my friend.

Your tree should be "safe" next year from those kittens. Until then, you've got to put away the breakable ornaments! I speak from experience. :)
