1) I'm a lover, not a fighter BUT when it comes to me and my character, my kids, loved ones and friends...I'll go toe to toe.
2) I have a hard time seeing nudity as beautiful. I know that it has a lot to do with loving and accepting my own body the way it is. But, also, it feels so private and intimate that even looking at nude statues or art in different galleries, I tend to turn away or blush.
3) There's not a day that goes by that I don't hate every article of clothing in my closet, except for my house slippers. I need a new wardrobe and BAD!!!
4) Keeping a bucket list of things to do while I'm still here seems to be growing by the minute. It's exhilarating to know that I have things to reach for and get excited about.
5) Some of the things that I was afraid of when I was a little girl, I'm still afraid of now: noisy trucks, false teeth floating in a jar, balloons popping, loud flushing toilets, wet hair wrapped around my toes, the dentist, loud confrontations and losing someone close to me.
6) Sometimes I don't see the full picture unless I step away from it. That's also how my life is. Up close, too much can cloud my ability to see things for what they are.
7) Nosiness and curiosity always wins out when I see something that screams, "Don't touch." I remember being at a train museum where there were old tools on display. The fascination got the best of me and I ignored the "Do not touch" sign. I gently (at least I thought I was gentle) touched the tool and a part of it hit the floor with a loud clang. I grinned and prayed that I wouldn't be asked to leave.
8) I used to feel guilty when I didn't accomplish my list of things to do for the day. I'm learning to not feel bad when I spend my day, relaxing, reading, watching dvds, playing video games and staying in my pjs all day.
9) The smell of play doh and Elmer's glue takes me back to my childhood memories of creating and inventing.
10) Home is my favorite place to be.
What have you learned about yourself?

I've learned that I still like playing with Playdoh, Elmer's glue and Legos! It's fun to be a kid again. :)
I love your #4.
Z hates loud flushing toilets and noisy hand dryers... now I'm wondering if she'll ever outgrow that.
I learned that I need more patience (and humor) to deal with those mornings when the kids get up on the wrong side of the bed. :)
I identify with many of the things you listed but especially with "Home is my favorite place to be". I always feel like I'm boring and having "no life" if I haven't been somewhere or done something, but truthfully I LOVE to be home!! I totally "get it"!
Wow!! It is nice to be back on your blog and reading your posts. Something as simple as the hair around your toe brings back the memories of our childhood ... Even I would freak when I had hairs tangled with my toes and you know Indian ladies have long hairs LOL.
PS : I am ashamed of myself at not being able to catch up with my blogger friends. Too many things happening at once and I am sort of lost.
I've learned that although I hate passive-aggressive behaviors I display some myself...like loudly saying something to my friend about someone's rude behavior at the movie theater hoping they hear me but since I'm not addressing them directly I felt justified in being rude myself...not pretty...need to work on that!LOL
The hair thing made me laugh a bit...my daughter has a hair on the floor "issue" too...when she was little she wouldn't step into the bathroom barefoot until I cleaned any stray hairs of mine!
Ah, Play Doh - yes, that takes me back, too.
I am so with you on the guilt thing. Yesterday I didn't go into work - icy roads made travel impossible - so I thought about doing my taxes, cleaning the hardwood floors and baseboards, etc. Know what I did? Watched tv and caught up on blog reading. Never got out of my pj's...hmmm...did I even brush my hair? I don't remember. And I really don't care.
Home is IT for me, too. Disneyworld runs a close second.
I still love the feel of Playdoh and use it in object lessons every time I get 'round SS and Kid's Church.
I wish I could get a little of that relaxed feelin' when my day is runnin' short...I just press on no matter how stinkin' tired I am.
I do 'try' to take time for an afternoon movie just for me. Of course I have to find a happily ever after one or it just won't fly! Heeehehehe!!!
Ya'll have a wonderfully blessed weekend!!! :o)
Nudity has a different affect on me these days. I will look away if it's a scene in a movie when Big Daddy is in the room.
It's like I'm that young girl again.
Home is my favorite place too.
My favorite thing on this list is that the only thing you like in your wardrobe is your slippers! You are adorable!
I too have to take a step back in life to see the big picture. I am trying to count the "haves" instead of the "have nots". I love the smell of a new doll. It smells like Christmas to me. Nudity in art does not bother me but nudity in movies does.
Great post. Thank you for making me think again.
That books sounds great, maybe I'll add it to my self-help read list.
"False teeth floating in a jar?" LOL! I've never seen this up close and personal before.
I'm learning that a schedule is best for me with 1-2 days of no planned activities. It helps me get a sense of balance when it comes to accomplishing things and taking time to relax.
Have a great weekend~! I hope all is well for you! Is your daughter all moved in yet?
Hugs,
Mandy and Viv
Home is my favorite place to be too, and like you, the smell of Playdoh and Elmers are happy smells of old. :)
Hi Simone, I'm am so with you on "false teeth floating in a jar". My Grandmother had them and I still remember the first time I saw them in her jar... My young self nearly had a heart attack!
Have a great week, xo jj
I totally hate my closet full of clothes too. Some are so old I had them 10 years ago. UGH
I've learned you can't fix it all, no matter how hard you try.
Those false teeth in the glass? Yikes!
Your number 5 reminded me of a hilarious family story. Last vacation with my parents the five of us shared a big room with Sloane on a cot. I got up in the night to go to the restroom and she woke up and asked me to get her a drink of water. I didn't want to turn on the lights and wake up anybody, so I grabbed a glass by feel and poured water in it. I took it to her and the sound night's sleep was over. I'm not sure if it was her exclamation, "Oh gross!" or my roar of laughter, but I had handed her my Dad's false teeth in a glass.
I am learning a lot about you. Thanks for sharing. Anne
