Things I've Learned Thursday

I haven't been to visit all of you and I apologize. I've been without a computer and still, without one.....keep reading for more info.

1) Time may fly by when you’re having fun but it drags when all hell breaks loose.

2) On the 27th day of October, my true love handed me, one Kleenex for crying, one blown head gasket, one fried computer, one chewed up cell phone, two burned fingers, one paper cut and a cute puppy grinning ear to ear.

3) I will never attempt to make kale chips again. If left in a freezer bag, by the next morning, it turns into spinach. (And tastes like cow poop.)

4) Why oh why are Christmas lights and decorations up already? I'm SO not humored.

5) Oregonians refer to women as "gals". It takes some getting used to.

6) Every now and then, I have an extreme urge to either rob a bank or to do a money dance. (You know the kind where for no explained reason, it begins to rain money?)

7) My favorite white noise lately is the trains going down the tracks. Although, when the conductor leans on the horn, that's not exactly pleasant.

8) I'm so thankful for the fall...the leaves in all of their colorful glory and the biggest reason...caramel apples!

9) Dogs are happiest when they smell their worst!

10) Having a discussion with a three year old made my day. He greeted me first with, "Hellllloooo!" and then, "Me's Parker." Then, pointing to his dad, "Him's names Daddy."

What have you learned?

There is not one shoe in the entire DSW shoe store which is fashionable AND comfortable. I figured this out after being there for two hours trying on shoes.

I really dislike #2. I'm with you on #4 and guess where my husband is right now? He's at work, helping to decorate the store for Christmas. :(
#10 made me laugh!

Today I learned my 80-year old mom and I are still capable of collapsing into giggles, laughing so hard we cried and couldn't even speak. It was priceless!

(Kale chips? Really!?)

This week I've learned that having house guests for several weeks in a row (even though the guests themselves are different) is WAYYYYYY TOOOOOOOOOOO LONGGGGGGGGGG!

I learned that it's nice having family visit but I really like my routine and it's being messed with has thrown me for a loop!

I hope all your mishaps are over and it rains money so you can dance!

Have a wonderful weekend! ((hugs))

Rain money??? Now that's a dance I'll have to learn.

"His name is Daddy", now that one's precious!!!

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN! Actually, I couldn't find you so I looked through my "followers" and wondered: "if I click her face, will it take me to her blog?" Yeah. Pure genius here.

# 1 is absolutely true. We have never turned on our Christmas lights until after Thanksgiving. I hated my retail experience when the Christmas music was turned on in the store Nov.1st.

My white noise is military fighter jets flying overhead. (I live about 7 miles from a Marine/Navy Air station.)

I agree with Sweet Tea. Now I have to go for comfort. Could be, wearing heels for 30 years did me in.

You have quite a list there. I made carmel apples with my daughter this a.m. - what fun. Money dance? I could use some of that. Enjoy your weekend.

Sorry to hear about your computer! Hope it's fixed soon! If you find out where it's raining money let me know! LOL

Have a great weekend!

Blessings,
Jill

Sweet Tea--Try "Born" shoes. BEST shoes EVER. and they are cute too.

I was at the mall today and sure enough, Christmas was starting. But, being that it is such work to get ready for, I guess I understand it. I used to work retail and it nearly killed us to ready for Christmas sales.

I have a friend from PA, and she uses the "gal" word, too. It must be a sprinkled term throughout the country. And I thought it was southern. :)

You always share the BEST lessons! I have sympathy for you, but get a good laugh, too.

Sorry about your lastest breakdowns and injuries. Hope everything is on the mend. How are you managing without your computer! :)

When you get it up and going, drop by my blog to see my one-liner thanks (to you) for the book that I won in your give-away some time ago. Who knew that it would be some of the inspiration for my post. :)

Omg! I think you need a hug! CYBER-HUG! ~hehe~ I hope you're doing better by now. I was looking at some old posts of mine (the pics mostly), and i saw you're smiling face and thought I'd come over, and say hi, so HELLO! I have to go into the city today, and make my presence known at my grandson's birthday party. He turned six. It's going to be at his other grandpa's house. Can't stay too long because I have a hair line fractured him, and sitting is just not my forte lately. :( I'm glad I stopped by first thought just to wish you a blessed Sunday & hope you have a pleasant day!
